The bottom 4 stands for the elements and the top for the spirit. Well why can’t the top point stand for god? Don’t they call god the Holy Spirit?

Up or down. If it's pointed down, it shows you are materialistic over spiritual... while one up means you are more spiritual than materialistic.
One point down is baphomet, don... and only for certain groups. The Jews used the symbol... so did 1st century Christians... it did not become a "Pagan" symbol till certain secret organizations started springing up everywhere (most of which, came from the Roman Catholic Church... not the Pagans)... it wasn't used as a symbol for Paganism till quite recently, actually... about 100 yrs or so...

A pentacle or pentagram is a 5 pointed star w/1 point - pointing downwards or upwards --- within a circle or not. The top does represent spirit. In ancient times the points once stood for the five wounds of Christ, and was a 'Christian" symbol. An inverted pentacle, upside down, usually stands for a rite of pagan initiation.

it's called a pentacle and it is an amulet, on which the symbol of a spirit being evoked is drawn. Some people believe them to be magical; and used in some neopagan magical traditions, such as Wicca.

The term pentacle is sometimes confused with pentagram, the five-point universal star. This is perhaps due to the fact that the five-point Seal of Solomon is a common symbol employed on pentacles, particularly as depicted in the Tarot.

The pentagram, also known as the pentangle is a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes. The five vertices were also used by the medieval neo-pythagoreans to represent the five Classical elements:

water
earth
"a divine thing" (God, if you will)
fire
air

A pentagram is a five-pointed star.
A pentacle is a five-pointed star within a circle.
The meanings that people attribute to symbols varies. I have heard these varieties:
1. One point upward means spirit over physical
2. One point upwards symbolizes akasha
3. One point upward symbolizes spirit
4. One point downwards means physical over spiritual
5. One point downward symbolizes a second degree in some traditions of Wicca
6. Four points represent the four elements of air, fire, water, and earth. The fifth point is a perfect balance of the four elements
7. It is a symbol of the element of earth
I'm sure there are other interpretations....

I believe the pentacle symbolizes the human being in equilibrium so, the spirit points to the sky, straight to God.

A PENTACLE and it can represent many things, it was used long before the birth of Christianity so none of it would represent the Christian God.
