how do you get RAR. files to work?

Try using WinRar, it can be downloaded for free and need not be activated for uncompressing the files. For downloading just type Winrar + Download in google and go to the first link.

If you are unable to find your way then after installing winrar double click on the file you want to decompress and click on extract in the winrar menu. It will give you a path showing where you can place the uncompressed file. You can change this path according to your prefetrence and it will do the rest for you.

can take a while, right? So, you can't blame the poster for using things like

you have to un-archive them first. if you have not download a winrar, which will allow you to extract archived files by simply double clicking the icon, after that you have to copy the folders to a folder on your hard drive, so that they will not be in rar anymore, and you will be able to work with them
