My sister and i have booked a 2 week holiday to Margarita, Venezuela (Nov 22nd - Dec 7th) We have done some research on the resort, but do any other British holidaymakers have personal experiences that will give us more insight? Thanks

yes, my husband and I had a wonderful time there. We stayed at a "posada". It was slightly cheaper and more typical of the area. There are also nice and expensive resorts. Local people are very nice, but apply common sense. Don't let anybody carry your luggage or offer you to take to places. Only use registered taxi cabs. These a little more expensive, but safer. Never use "piratas' taxis. I would recommend not to expose expensive things such as digital cameras, or even expensive shoes, any kind of jewlery, etc. Be as plain and simple as you can. Don't stay at beach or any lonely place by yourself. Never exchange currency with any individuals. Always exchange money at the bank, or exchange agencies like "Italcambio".

It is always a good idea to know Spanish of course!

Other than that, there are many places where you can have fun. Visit the Spanish Castles and the wonderful beaches.http://www.corpoturmargarita.gov.ve/destino/fotos.asp

i do no longer understand why they locate it so beautiful yet for us Barbadians the procuring attracts us there. that's plenty easier to get to Margarita than to curacao. to get to curacao we'd could circulate to Trinidad and Bahamas we'd could circulate to possibly Miami. Barbadians additionally choose to circulate to St. Maarten to save. In St Maarten you will save for much less costly electronics besides as liquor and you may save for garments to sell back in Margarita. St. Martin is the French area and not very usual with clientele considering they close for siesta. To get a greater effective answer you may have requested this question in the ecu section.
