The blueprints For a Family and how it begins in the Bible.
How it was started by God--God sets the standards, and --God secures the home.We read from Deuteronomy 6: 1-9,-- but, First, in Gen. 5:29, how we are to live righteous lives( and the man demonstrates the character of God)- and be a model for the children .
Secondly, Deut. 6:4 -a home where the Lord is loved,.. "Thou shalt love the Lord they God, with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy strength(might)."
And verse 5- children are to know the reality of God--that He is the Creator, that He lives , and that there is only ONE God--and only ONE mediator, His son, Jesus Christ.
Thirdly,(verses 6-9) the home is where lessons are learned--learning to love God and to love your life.
When you fail to bring your child to church, you-
1. Open a vacancy that the world would LOVE to fill.
2. There will be vacancy in their heart.
3. you are giving the child the right of choosing whether or not to believe in God.
3 suggestions-
1. start a family altar
2. have a family pew
3. have a family reunion, every evening-----stay in touch with the kids--ask them about their day-stay in touch with them.
Have an "extreme makeover" in your own home!!
-end-
Actually, there was more--but, I take notes, so you just about got the whole sermon. God MOVED this morning!! "HOME" is a very touchy subject. We all had our days,...

DEVELOPING A LIFESTYLE OF EXCELLENCE taught by Pastor Micheal Hurst @ New Horizon Christian Fellowship scriptures were Deuteronomy 28:11-14, the main message was concerning excellence in your life, we should always strive for this.My favorite verse was 13, when the Lord shall make you the head not the tail.I shall be above and not beneath, but you must listen, obey the commandments of the Lord thy God, obey and do them. It's good to know that God always has our back...Some other scriptures are Daniel 11:32,Psalms 9:8, Isiah 43:6-7, I Corinthians 6:19m St. Matthew 25:20-21. I had a great time today, I hope I spread a little cheer to someone who didn't get to go to church today..

Scriptures: Amos 7:7-15 ; Psalm 85: 7-13; Ephesians 1:1-14; and Mark 6:7-13. The sermon was basically about we are not the only nation that worships God and we need to stop acting like we are.

My church is Our Lady of Mount Carmel and today is the feast of Our Lady. They used scripture specific to that feast day for that reason. I have to admit, I didn't catch the verses as I had my 5 and 2 year old with me and they were getting a little noisy at the time. Since they used unique scripture, it wasn't listed in the weekly hymnal and I can't answer you. Needless to say the verses chosen were about the role of Mary as both mother and disciple, with the readings tending toward the relationship with God as a discple of His faith.

The Summer Series is on Heaven & is being accompanied by a book by Randy Alcorn called, "Heaven".
Jesus our Savior and judge. Our pastor focused on how we will, even believers, have to give an account for our works.
He loves us but there will be an accounting, whether we believe in him or not.
He used a bunch of Scriptures-John 5:22-30 was the primary text.

I went and we're talking about the Beatitudes, and being blessed how God sees us. That we are blessed when we are poor in spirit, when we show mercy, we will receive mercy, taht we are truly blessed from the inside out. We also had a challenge, once a week wear a shirt inside out to represent how you've been changed.

The topic today was recognizing false teachers, people who distort God's Word to lead others away from God.
