I don't think it is the government's responsibility to censor people in their marketing or choices of food. It is up to the individuals in the U.S. to make healthy choices.

What would really be great would be if healthy foods would cost less than the unhealthy foods. Potatoes and pasta are very cheap and they last a long time. On the other hand, produce is very expensive and does not last very long at all.

It's all about healthy choices and healthy food budgets amongst American families.

Why would the U.S. government do that? People getting sick from all the junk consumption is big business here. We don't only have obesity, but heart problems, diabetes, respiratory issues, etc. mostly from not eating well and being overly stressed. What would the AMA and insurance companies do if people were healthy?

I agree with you. I feel that the US Government is not doing anything to prevent obesity because they are tied in with the medical industry, which is nothing but a big money market. The more obese people there are, the more revenues from purchases of diet medications.

first off, your country is poor. there is less food to go around. gluttony is the american dream and the US govt. has ABSOLUTELY no reason to do that. obesity makes them more money than cigarettes, but you dont see them doing anything to those but taxing the #$)* out of them. think about doctor bills, excessive food purchase, diabetes, heart disease, misc. obesity accomodations. obesity strengthens our economy in many ways, not to mention curbs overpopulation...even sometimes larger clothes cost more. it's like saying "shouldn't we have world peace?". good idea, not ganna happen...

Obesity is because of people who are lazy,or their job doesn't give them much exercise. People won't cut grass with a push lawnmower, won't ride a bicycle, walk, etc.People do anything to avoid labor.
It is no use to blame companies for what the people put in their mouth. You don't have to eat it.

I know what you mean. My family is from Guatemala and maybe its the poverty, but people don't stuff their mouths like we do here in the US. The Gov should take part in the war against this epidemia because it is killing our people. I personally favor this idea that the Gov is coming up with
