I want opinions as to how the earth was populated when according to the bible, it started out with two people, Adam and Eve and their sons Cain, Abel and eventually Seth... Girls are not mentioned... but of course there had to be some... but populate the entire earth????

Not everything is mentioned in the bible. If it was, it would be too large to print. I have a chapter from Genesis for you. He did not stop with Adam and Eve. Every story has to have a beginning. If you told your lifestory, I am quite sure you would leave off many chains of events.
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17: And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
18: And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.
19: And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
20: And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
21: And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
22: And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
23: And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

First of all, just because only three names were mentioned, that does not mean that was all the children Adam and Eve had- think about how long Adam lived for and then think exponentially from there.The best and most logical explanation I have seen can be found at AnswersinGenesis.org Where did Cain get his wife?
Also, who says the whole earth was populated in the time of Genesis? It eventually became this way but people gradually spread out from where God placed Adam and Eve in the first place - but I don't think that it is really clear about the timing.

Eve was bone of Adam's bones, and flesh of Adam's flesh. Gen.2:22;
Adam was age 130 when Seth the second in the genealogy of Jesus is born.
In this 130 years 60 children could have been born[ he lived 930 years], to have many more, brothers and sisters could have been strangers and only one pair had to mate for life to produce mates for Adam's others and soon others, others ect., it is not hard to understand how they increased, but so close to perfection, it is not incest [ no chance for genetic defect ], as is today or since 2515 years after Adam, when Aaron passed the next of kin laws Lev.18:7-18;
For some idea on population increase:
Judah with 70 family members went into Rameses Egypt, 215 years before. Moses age 80, came to take them, one half million, into the Promised Land.

"After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters"
there were more children than the three that are named

Adam and eve lived about nine hundred years... they made lots of babies. Those children had to have, at least in the first few generations, made more babies among themselves. Note, the gean pool was not poluted as it is now so the incest restriction was not inforce then. So if two make four and four make eight and so on... it did not take laong to get quite a population.

Keep in mind the life span of humans today is no where near what it was in the beginning. Some were living hundreds of years before passing. In that time was the earth populated.

Though its not explicitly said, many Christians and Jews believe that God created more than just Adam and Eve. Otherwise, the human race was populated via incest, which is a sin.

Back then, in order to populate the earth, it was permitted for the brothers t marry their sisters. Once the earth was populated to God's satisfaction, He changed that law and now it is not permitted for a brother to marry a sister.
