Hello Myth:
Interesting Question!
Personally I have always questioned people
when they have said to me "I'll pray for you!?
Strange.
I believe, for myself, that when I pray I pray, and
I don't talk about it.
I just do it and basically I just talk somewhere
quiet to the heavens and mention with all
my heart what the issue is......I do this all the
time and well, no one knows, and I could
not care less.....

as for praying for someone else, well, I do
privately and I never mention it to them.
I have profound thoughts at times to care and
ask for care of individuals,...and well, that is that
.

Hire, definitely no,no,no...

luv
and thoughts,
Ava

Assuming that you are Chirstian then the answer would be no, you cannot hire someone to pray for you. You should definately pray for yourself. Throughout the New testament Jesus compares God to a heavenly father. You should, therefore, speak to God just as you would an earthly parent. I don't know many who would hire someone to talk to their Dad for them.

I think that we should all personally pray to God ourselves. We have to have that personal relationship with him. But, you can ask others to pray for you too. This is because the more people that pray, the better it is. I don't kneel down on my knees by my bed each night, but, I talk to God wherever and whenever I can! Especially when I'm on my way to work, I shut the radio off, and just babble away. I pray for my kids, my parents and just the day itself! Just last week I was praying for my husband to get back to work (he was off too long!) and this morning his boss called, and he starts on Tuesday! Isn't that cool? Hallelujah! I pray for my kids safety everyday too (my daughter just got her drivers licence), and they come home safe! I pray for everything and I have faith. You just gotta! Why in the world would I want to "hire" someone else to pray "for" me? And miss out on talking with him myself? Not in my lifetime!

People will offer to pray for you,but I would not say hire. Although people do ask others to pray for them.

You should be in constant prayer. This is what the Bible tells us. If you are sick, in need of something, have troubles, whatever someone can include you in their prayers, or pray with you, but you have to take an active role in praying too. And why not pray? If you are too lazy, that is considered slothfulness, and that in itself is a sin.

Proxy prayer...I thought I had heard it all. A little while ago, someone told me (on this site), that Jesus was like a telephone connection to God...then surely hiring someone to pray for you is like call forwarding.

But seriously, that's what Christ is, an intercessor. He's free...really free...

First, to have any impact on your life, you must pray personally.

Second, you don't HIRE others to pray, you can ask for others to pray for your needs to amplify your own prayers, but YOU have to first be involved.

I mean, it;s the same as you paying me to do your job, but by me being there, doing the work, I get paid by the company also, two streams for me, none for you!

The Lord hears the prayers of His children or those whom He is calling to become His children. Any prayer a Christian prays is heard by the Father. Christians know and understand the delicate relationship and balance of prayer for others and prayers for themselves. The Body of Christ, the true Church, is a wonderful tool for seeking prayer amongst believers.

A minister,priest,.... are people you prove and income to that help you with your prayers and spiritual growth. But if the prayers don't come from the heart they don't real mean anything. So find someone how cares and pray with them.
