Not just in our solar system obviously, but throughout the entire universe. you have to admit, it would be pretty ignorant to assume we are the only life in this vast universe. So, let's imagine there is other life out there with intelligence similar to or greater than ours. Do you think our god created them as well? Do you think they would have the same religious beliefs? Would they all go to hell if they had different beliefs?

Yes I believe there to be life in other reaches of the universe and I think they have probably have their own belief systems whatever they may be and have no need for ours.

Well I certainly hope there is life on other planets, because God really f-ed up if he only made humans.

Seriously, though, I believe in evolution, not creation, so I believe that there should be life elsewhere in the universe, although I cannot imagine what form it might take. If there is intelligent life out there, they probably have such different psychologies from ours that their religious practices would bear almost no resemblance to ours. I mean, look at some of the crazy things that humans do in the name of religion (ritual scarification, sacrifices, wars based on religion, etc.), now imagine a totally alien race.

Whether or not they would go to hell depends on who you ask. I don't believe in an afterlife, so I guess I don't have an opinion on the matter. I'm sure some religious folks will say yes they would go to hell for worshipping false gods. I'd be interested to see if any of these aliens could be converted to human religions.

For life on other planets, there is such a small chance and so many things that have to happen at the right time and in the right order for just life to evolve. Intelligent life takes even more. So I would say that the possibility is ridiculously small, but since there are so many planets it is a possibility that perhaps one or maybe two other planets contain intelligent life.

As for god, you made the assumption that others share your beliefs. I don't believe god created them as well. I do believe they would end up with similar religious beliefs though, since those traits naturally evolve that way for the good of society.

Have you ever watched Star Trek? lol. I actually think that it's something like that. I believe that there are other species aka aliens out there. And that they would have a different or similar religion from those on Earth. It would be a different culture, therefore they had different patterns of development, different experiences. So they most likely would have different beliefs. I am sure that they have their own hell or another place they go to if they die. There's an episode of Star Trek that is focused on Klingon hell, where the dishonorable souls go. In that species, honor is everything. Some alien species out there might not even be at the same point of development as us, so they might not even have such a thing as religion. Then those that are more advanced may have a very complicated religion, or maybe they take the scientific approach. It's hard to say. It would be interesting to find out.

WOW! First off let me just say GREAT QUESTION.

I do think that there is not only other life out there, but I believe that there is more than one Universe. Space is un-measurable so how do we really know.

I also agree that it would be completely ignorant to assume we are it, the only life out there. There are millions of solar systems and their has to be other people, maybe different species. Who am I to say.

I don't believe in little green men, but I do think that there are other species, other Earth like planets. Maybe even different "versions" (excuse the term for lack of a better one) of human beings.

I think that there are more advanced cultures out there and also less advanced. But also ones equal to are own.

I believe that there are new things going on all around us, we as the human race have only begun to tap into Science and the possibilities it holds within it. Space travel is still a baby, imagine what we will be able to do hundreds of years from now, if we don't destroy our planet first.

Thank you for this question it was a great one!

Peace, Love and Hope.

There is almost definitely life on other planets. The universe is so vast and there are so many galaxies and stars, I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones.

It stands to reason that some lifeforms have more intelligence than us, and some have less. As for religious beliefs, I think that we have the gamut pretty well covered here, in general terms. Monotheism, polytheism, pantheism, atheism...it's kinda hard to imagine a belief system so different from ours that you can't say, "Oh, theirs is kind of like this one!"

And since I'm not Christian, I obviously don't think they are going to hell any more than I am. *shrugs* But maybe it would answer the question better to say that "God has written the law on their hearts". He talks to any who are willing to listen.

It would be hard to imagine that this earth is God's first and only attempt at creation. The Bible does give some clues.

In Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan came also among them.

This appears to be a council of worlds with each world sending a representative to meet before God. Satan is the self-proclaimed representative from earth. Satan replaced Adam after the fall of man. When Jesus comes again, Adam will regain his place as the representative of earth.

Ephesians 3:10 states:

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

This seems to indicate that other worlds with created beings are watching how God is dealing with the sin problem on the earth. In effect the earth is the lessonbook for the universe regarding the results of sin. God is using our planet to make known his wisdom and the virtue of his government to the universe. Because they have not sinned, and therefore have not experienced sin, there questions about sin are being answered by watching our struggles with Satan and the malignant effects of sin.

If one accepts the notion of a universal, omnipresent God, it stands to reason that He/She created all life everywhere, not just on Earth. If one accepts the notion of multiple Gods, maybe other planets have a different God. Hard to say.

But at any rate, it is virtually impossible for Earth to be the only life-bearing planet with a civilization. The numbers are just way too vast.

I remember reading something awhile back, I can't remember where it was, but based on pessimistic estimates of the percentage of stars that have planets, the number of planets that can support life, percentage that actually do support life, and percentage of life that becomes evolved and forms a civilization, that the Milky Way galaxy alone should have about 600,000 civilized planets.

It is not ignorant at all to assume that, in fact it is quite the opposite. There is no evidence whatsoever, and there never will be any defending life on other planets. Everyone here will say "Yes, there has to be. The law of averages proves it." When in fact, the law of averages is irrelevant because it proves just as much as it disproves it. There are so many diffrerent factors to consider when taking into account the chances of life on other planets. Think of how random it was that Earth embraced life. Random carbon cells start forming this thing we today call DNA. The other life forms would have to have their own building blocks for life. One thing common to intelligent life forms on Earth is the face. Dogs, cats, fish, dolphins, raccoons, humans, etc., they all have a face. How likely is it that another planet spawns life, or even intelligent life? If you ask me, highly unlikely. The gloriousness of life is too unique to be on other planets. Yes, Earth is truly special.

The Universe is ever expanding and is infinite. I definetely do think they do exist. We can't say no cuz we don't have any evidence that they don't exist and we never will find that evidence. But we definetely could find evidence that they do exist, and even though I don't know specifically what evidence we have, we must have something already. Now as for your other questions, I definetely believe God created them as well cause there is only one God and he created everything in this universe. Now, they may have different beliefs. They may only worship one king that rules over them or they may believe in God and Creation and worship God, who knows. As for the hell question, we should ask that about animals, do you know what an animal thinks about religion. We don't know about animals beliefs, yet we are trying to find out the beliefs of something we don't even know exists. I'd say we can't tell about the religious beliefs of things we can't comprehend.

Yes. In an infinite universe there are infinite possibilites. It is arrogant and closed minded to think that we are the only life forms in the universe. No one truly knows the mind of God. He could just as easily have created life in untold numbers of worlds beyond this one. However, I don't believe life exists other than earth in our solar system. The planets are either too hot, too cold or don't have enough water or atmosphere.
