I want to stop my cats from clawing my furniture. I think that there might be a spray that makes the furniture undesirable. Did I dream it, or is there one? If there is, what is it called and where can I get it from?

To do that, the repellent spray will not be enough. Cats neet to sharpen their claws, so you have to provide them with a location where they may (such sharpening posts are sold at vet stores, same as where you could get the spray). But just getting the post and spraying the furniture will not be enough, you have to gradually train the cat to use the post only (make sure the post is steady and not likely to fall down when used, a couple such falls and you may lose your chance for the cat using it at all).

When you get the post, ask for advice how to train the cat. Usually it involves placing the post in immediat proximity with the favourite stracting piece of furnature, so when you forbit (NOT BY HITTING) the cat to scratch the furnature, the acceptable alternative will be close at hand; also, encourage the cat when using the post, including by extra attention or by a treat.

They spray will not do the work, but will help by repelling the cat a bit from what has been sprayed.

You can try something called feliway which i believe can be found at any vet clinic. Or you could try covering your furniture in tin foil because they dont like the sound or the texture.

make sure your cats nails are kept short and that will help and get some cat spray to keep them away for the couch or chair. and good luck.

pet co or any other pet store should carry somthing to keep your cats from scratching where you dont want them too, you can also get somthing from the vet, but its probubly more expensive but it might work better, go cheaper first to see if it works.
