4:140"And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Qur’ân) that when you hear the Verses of Allâh being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allâh will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell."

Am out of here!

Is that supposed to be a question?

jazakallahkhairon for this....you are right but im sure ive also read somewhere that we are permitted to engage in talk in order to educate people. There are people on this site who are genuinely interested in learning about deen and there are those who have simply never heard about Islam before.

I am not here to "sit" with them silently, and i think thats what the verse refers to- silently sitting whilst evil words are spoken. if you always walk away from evil talk and dont defend Allah then arent you being sinful too?

naz786- Why are you attacking your own brother? He was simply pointing out that it is sinful to sit in the company of those who mock Allah and not defend Him. He was right to point that out.

Also, "786" is not Islamic, it actually refers to a Hindu thing...

Have you heard of this:

1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

There is no reason not to understand why muslims or Islam is here. Islam has to do with monotheism and belief in God. Christians need to understand this and appreciate that God has caused this religion to spread in God's Divine government.

Very well aware of this verse. As a Muslim have to stay here to bring out the truth against your false accusations and distortion of Islam.

its pointless to try to convince a non believer no matter what ur religeon is ...no one likes to be preached at bud, and im sure your religeon is just like mine in that it is God that draws a mans heart to Himself...its not ur job to convince someone about God or the truth, all you can do is let the truth and knowledge that you know help you to guide others into peace and all the positive aspects of the Spirit without trying to convince them your religeon is right. Its a very dangerous line of thought to draw the lines and say "your an infedal" or "your going to hell" because of this or that....i think God says in the bible and in your quran that he reaches out to the lost to save them...who are we to judge those that are lost? the fiery judgement of hell is not yet! ! ! Who are we to judge another man and condemn him? Gods plan is to save the lost...or am i not correct on this?

read and understand that simple verse well, it's not a dark site. It's an admonition for muslims to stand firmly for justice. But to those who are weak in religious knowledge, keep away so as not to be led astray.

Calm down man - you, like the rest of all religions need to realize that there is no better religion, and that most of us in the world really believe in the same values, and that we are ALL G-d's children, and as much as we would like to be the favorite children of our G-d, fathers don't have favorite children, they love them all the same, and they shure as hell would not want thier children killing each other trying to be the favourite one
