Many mid teens are not ready for exams and the future is far far away. National Service would give a taste of the real world and a vocation. 2 years minimum. Then the option to go to back into Education to get the qualifications to get a proper job. Roll on National Service.

in britiain. I think national service should be brought back, in the military. It is only in military life, are young offenders and criminals are turned around. There is no-point in sending yobs into other civilian backgrounds it wont work they need the dicipline. Both for Boys and Girls. Also it would tackle the obesiety problem by getting people fit.

Then they won't learn the discipline instilled in them in the military. I think that a lot of young lads and lasses need to be taught some discipline and respect brought along by national service. The yob culture needs to be stamped out quickly, before it becomes a scar on our nation.

That would be better than making them join the armed forces, however my real problem with National Service is the fact the govenment is telling the people what to do like that.

If they were in the military, it would teach them some well needed skills, such as discipline and respect. As long as they trainied eith each other and not us "real" soldiers!
