I'm worried about potential conflicts,time contraints, having to play stepmom, etc...

if you love the guy then go right ahead. if you dont have any kids then it will give you an excellent expierance of being a mommy to a kid. my boyfriend has a 2 yr old daughter and i was scared to be with some1 at first who has a kid because it would put alot of baggage on you with the whole child support and all but its the best thing ever. You learn alot and when you are ready to have kids, you wil already know how to take care of them.

well it is wise to stay away from men who have kids , only because they dont know where the limit is and thier kids come first and you are going to be the second person in his life from now on, it wont be fun and what if the ex wants him back? what if she is not ready for him to have a lady around her kid, i know it is not her say but she might be like that. i think you should watch ou and get ready for some fighting, she wont want you around and what if he still gets along with her and her family, he will be going over there and hanging out for a while and will you be ok with that.. im glad you are thinking about it. well good luck.

I was with someone for 2 years who had a 3 yearold daughter. She started calling me her new dad and was asking me why her dad never comes to see her anymore.
Now that me and her mom aren't together anymore, she asks about me and I miss her too. I'd never date a girl with kids ever again.

if you're worried about that you shouldnt be.just becuase he has a 5 year old son dosen't mean anything.if you love him then date him dont let the 5 year old son be the reason ur not dating him.
