I think when you're in Hell, then you have no choice to believe in God, bacause by then you've probably had a really big reality check. But the point is you're separated from him, and you're stuck there. Hell is basically separation from God, and if you're an Atheist on earth, then you don't know that you're not separated from him, but in Hell you probably know. So an atheist in hell is probably an oxymoron. But how would I know? I've never been there.

NO/YES: It all depends on your view of HELL, You see Hell as it states in the bible is mankind's common grave. So having said that there are Atheists that are alive and some of them are dead. So as for Hell some of us live in Hell everyday, Just having to go through life can be Hell, You see I do not believe in a BURNING HELL, A God of Love would not create such a place 1John 4:8, Gen.1:1 tells us that God created the Heavens/Earth said nothing about a burning hell. So We those of us who are not Atheists and Atheists are all one day when we die are going to be in a state called hell which is according to the bible the GRAVE, that is what hell is the Grave where we are buried. NOT BURNED & Being Tormented. I am sure many would disagree but I try to live in harmony with what is FACT/TRUE, not made up not fiction BUT FACT WHICH IS WHAT THE BIBLE TELLS US.

If God punishes good people by sending them to hell simply for not believing in him, then I think it's a risk worth taking. A guy like Gandhi was a Hindu, but also an "Indian Jesus" figure to his people who dedicated his life to helping people... If he's down there too, then maybe it's not so bad. ;)

I just try to be a good person in life, not just because of fear of any implications in the afterlife, but it's genuinely better to make friends instead of enemies. To me, heaven or hell is determined by what you make of it in life, not by what the afterlife is going to be. If freedom is a sin to God, then we are all guilty of it and should stick to the 10 Commandments as strictly as possible, including the 10th Commandment that nobody in this country follows anyway because we all want what the new 72" DLP Widescreen HDTV the Jones's got next door. ;)

I believe there are athiests in hell not because they were athiests per se, but because of the way they lived their lives.

I also believe you'll find pleasantly surprised athiests in heaven who did not believe but spent their lives as if they did.

If Christianity is true, then only those people who believe in Jesus Christ go to heaven. Everyone else goes to hell. Athiests don't believe in Jesus so. . . they go to hell too.

Everyone in hell will be athiests to some point. You can only get to Heaven through Jesus Christ, all who do not know Jesus as their personal saviour will surely roast in hell. Jesus loves you.

Everone that dies goes to hell with the exception of the remnant of the 144,000 during the last days who are changed in the twinkling of an eye to be with Christ in heaven.

There are. But not because of atheism. The new covenant of Jesus Christ says that in order to get into heaven you must love your neighbor and honor God, and was open to people of all religions. Seeing as atheists don't believe in a G/god, the stipulation for them is they really only have to love their neighbor.

That is where all nonbelievers go. Christians go to heaven.

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
