This is after all a Religion and SPIRITUALITY section.

Does christianity have a monopoly on spirtuality ?

Is it that they don't like their cosy little belief system to be challenged ?

Understand that many Christians are relatively new... and it is bothersome (and can be unnerving) to have what you believe questioned so vehemently before you have a full enough grasp to provide an intelligent response.

I've read questions by Jews, Muslims and Buddhists that posed questions about what others believe as a search for information and understanding. I've seen some of those types of questions from Atheists, but by and large most of the questions posed by atheists have been an attack on Christianity - and other faiths... so it is possible that many Christians would rather not read these attacks and so they just assume that if there were no atheists posting, the attacks would stop.

I think everyone can agree that if we would use this as a forum to learn about each other's beliefs instead of attacking them, we would all get along better.

Incidentally - I answered a question here not too long ago about Jesus at the "wedding in Cana".... Jewish weddings aren't the only ones I attend ... I'd love to see the marital ceremonies of other faiths... especially if you have good food at your reception.

Some people are afraid of what is different, and well they might think that because they are atheist they are bad people.

Some people are atheist because the have this inner awakening that do not understand the why or how of spirituality, but not everyone will go and look for the answers. This is call the Gnostic.

Christianity has been trying for centuries to monopolize the religion and nothing else is good for them, Pointing the finger to other religions instead of getting humanity together they separate them.

I don't whine and moan about ANYBODY being on here. I don't think Christians mind being challenged, but they DO mind when they're being bashed and degraded for their beliefs. I don't really consider myself to be a Christian, but I will say I'm a believer. And even I am offended by some of the stuff that I see posted. You and everybody else is entitled to believe how you want to believe, but when someone doesn't agree with YOUR view, that is not a license to be disrespectful.

They believe they have a monopoly, Yes, they and also descended (religiously) from a belief system that burned people who didn't believe what they believed. That really has nothing to do with it, I just like to remind people of it.

We don't. It's the atheists who are doing the moaning and rabble rousing.
