If you took the time to research the origins of Halloween, you'd see that it isn't what you have been brought up to believe. With that said, here is my question(s)....
Why do so many Christians have the concept that Halloween is an "evil" holiday? Do you simply accept this from what you hear?

No as a Christian, I have heard these remarks, mostly from uneducated Christians that want to sound like they know what they are saying, but really just want to control other people. the same goes for Christmas trees , Christmas lights and Easter Eggs. to name a few.

All Hallow's (Halo's) Eve (the day before All Saint's Day) isn't any more evil than Christmas Eve. The idea that Halloween is evil probably comes from the impression that the forces of evil would put up one whale of a fight to capture as many people as possible and drag them to the "dark side" before All Saints Day could happen.

In reality, Halloween is supposed to be a great celebration...

And for me, it's a great time to scare the crap out of the neighborhood kids... last year I hid under the porch to grab people's ankles as they came up the steps. Demented, I know... but it made me laugh...

And it's the only thing I have left since, at 34, no one believes I'm a kid anymore when I go trick-or-treating.

Many Christians are led to believe that Halloween is evil because of its associations with images of the devil, death, witchcraft, and so forth. The also point to Halloween's roots in a pagan Druid holiday called Samhain. However, the church sought to remedy that situation by moving All Saints Day to November 1, which move gave Halloween its name.

I believe that nearly anything is redeemable to the glory of God, and that Halloween is an excellent time to laugh at the devil, to face the fear of death with humor, to explore safely the more obscure, scarier things of life, and to appreciate the God-made cycle of nature which includes times of harvest, decay, and the "sleep" of death until spring. Christians should not fear death nor death's symbols anyway.

Personally, I love Halloween for the chance to dress up in costume as something I want to be, or to express a thought through a costume, as well as to give things away.

Probably those Christians who come from an occultic background would prefer to leave Halloween alone, but please allow the rest of us to enjoy it!

Halloween is a celtic holiday. It is based on beliefs that demons are around us and we must leave out food or treats to keep the demons from hurting us "trick or treat" Christisans often dont like the fact that there is anything "evil" and that if you take your child out trick or treating dressed up like a witch then you are supporting the pagan holiday when you are mearly getting candy for you to eat after the crumbsnatcher goes to bed lol. Halloween is a fun holiday and people need to stop shoving religion down our throats. LONG LIVE TRICK OR TREATING

The premise that Halloween is evil is yet another attempt by the Catholic church to control people through fear. People simply believe whatever the church tells them because they don't have the capacity to think for themselves.
This site will give anyone who wants to know the true origins of "Halloween".

The festival of All Saints, also sometimes known as "All Hallows," or "Hallowmas" ("hallow" meaning "holy," and "mas" meaning "Mass"), is a feast celebrated in their Honor. All Saints is also a Christian formula invoking all the faithful saints and martyrs, known or unknown.

Common commemorations by several churches of the deaths of martyrs began to be celebrated in the 4th century.

So the Christians that do not know why, they call it evil is because they have been though that way and do not know why.

Halloween is celebrated many ways in many cultures and none of them evil. In Mexico it is to celebrate the lives of those who passed before them. There is nothing evil about it. Just more people trying to demonize religions other than their own is all.

I believe that Halloween is an Evil holiday for these reasons:
1.) we go out at night
2.)traditional costumes include things like ghosts, skeletons etc.
3. we wear masks and costumes to protect our identity.

Usually fundamentalists like to assume what they hear is true without even doing a little bit of research. This is the case with premarital sex, abortion, and smoking since none of them are mentioned in the bible.
