yes smoking does raise your blood pressure but it's an unhealthy way of doing so. As someone with blood pressure low enough to cause black outs several times a week I definitely don't recommend it. I tried it for a while and I was OK while it was OK but my black outs were that much worse when it dropped back down.
My doctors had me simply increase my salt intake with actual salt tablets (sold at most natural cure stores), beef jerky, french fries, sunflower seeds, potato chips. Occasionally I smoke or drink coffee but only when I know it's crazy low. Talk to your doctor for other suggestions or meds.
Please, ignore these people that say low blood pressure is not a problem. It can kill you just as much as high can. If you black out while driving it can also kill others. If you get pregnant without it being under control, guess what it's also a risk for your baby. I normally run 90/50 but I've seen it and even been admitted to the hospital when it falls into the 70's. I can't drive and can't work jobs where I have to stand or work outdoors.

I have low blood pressure and so does my mom. Smoking will not help. All it will do is help you get cancer. It shouldn't be a bother to you. It doesn't hold you back from doing anything. It's not the same as say, high blood pressure. The only problems that I have is every so often whenever I am sitting down for a long time and get relaxed; then jump up real fast I get light headed. No big deal.
But no, smoking won't help.

Smoking will help alright:
It will help you to an early grave .
It will give your lungs a feeling like no other : when you try to take a breath , smoke long enough and each breath will be as though you are breathing thru a cement straw . No matter how hard you try , you will NOT recover from emphysema .
Smoking will also help you get lung cancer .
Have you ever seen lungs that are blackened like charcoal , next to healthy pink lungs ?
Try lugging around an oxygen bottle where-ever you go . Smoking will help you get that too .
And who's to say how long , is too long ?
Smoking will kill off your brain cells ( this may already be too late , if that question was any judge )..
Smoking will also help clog up your last artery to your heart and help get you a massive heart attack .
There are countless other things smoking will help you get . None of them worth striving for .

i actually have low blood pressure and i do smoke; i tried this question on my doctor a few months back and all he could say was "your not meant to think of it like that"
to be fair tho, even as a smoker i am aware that im doing myself a fair bit of damage to my lungs, my heart etc. So it isnt just the blood pressure you have to take into account.

What ever you do, don't smoke, that is not the answer to anything.
Low blood pressure is not normally a problem unless you keep passing out, if that is the case, see your doctor for advice.

Smoking does raise blood pressure, but it will not HELP. Carbon monoxide displaces oxygen in the bloodstream and may still contribute to loss of equilibrium. Hardening of the arteries, increased risk for heart & lung disease, the "C" word, and an addictiveness that surpasses heroin does not tilt the balance towards help.

Low blood pressure is not necessarily a bad thing. Smoking helps nothing. It only causes illness and deterioration. Please do not consider smoking. It is throwing away good money for the sake of committing a slow suicide.

No! smoking doesn't help anything except the speed at which you get to the grave. I think i guess your reasoning (ie, it raises blood pressure eventually) but you'd spend half your time passing out anyway.

I would think that smoking would just make a bad situation worse. Smoking helps nothing but the tobacco companies.
