Even though your cat didn't go into heat you can still get it spayed before it does! So just find a vet you trust get an apiontment and get you'r cat spayed. Juswt to check females only go in heat to make sure you know. LOL if it's a male it will only spray but either male or female can get altered at that age. If it's over a 3 or 4 months you can get it spayed.P.S. You can trust me I'm a vet.

If you really want to get her spayed, you should do that immediately. Cats can go into heat for the first time any age between 4 and 6-7 months. It is always preferable to spay a cat before she ever goes into heat, or at least before her 5th heat cycle. According to some vets, spaying can prevent some forms of cancer, such as mammal cancer. But if you spay a cat after her 5th heat cycle, she'll be as likely to get mammal cancer as a cat that has never been spayed.

Yes, you do need to worry. I had my cat spayed at 5 months and she was already pregnant! So don't be so sure you have nothing to worry about. Don't wait unless you want her to have a litter. They don't always show the "obnoxious" signs the first time.

I think she will need to be spayed pretty soon if she is five months. I think females have their first heat at about six months. Check with your vet. That is why I always have boy cats, a female cat in heat is hard to tolerate.

Actually, you do have to worry about it! She's almost old enough for her first heat!

Something else to consier, and very important:

Mammary cancer (called breast cancer in humans) is the number one killer of female cats with developed mammaries.

If you have her spayed before her first heat, her mammaries will never develop and the risk of mammary cancer will be reduced to virtually zero.

Once she's had her first heat, spaying does not reduce the risk if mammary cancer.
