A car wash in Texas - Joke, first link ;)

I cannot find an explicit definition but it appears to be the zone in a wetlands between low and high tide that is washed by tidal waters as the water level rises and falls. The second link is a photo of a tidal wash. The wikipedia link to the Fens defines a salt marsh as the upper part of a tidal wash and it also defines a "Wash, which at greater or shorter intervals had bodies of water flowing over it, as in tidal mud-flats or braided rivers."

I live in north county San Diego and right above a huge salt water lagoon. As the tides proceed to flow in and out of these lagoons, the water tends to "wash"stuff as it passes by.Another way of saying it would be a tidal "Flush"...tom science
