Or, if you are a muslim, then why are you an atheist about the god jesus, or the god shiva?

Funny how we are all atheist when it comes to specific gods. When you understand why you reject all those other gods, perhaps then you will understand why I and they reject your god. Fact: Atheism is not a religion, but all religious persons are atheists. In other words we share common grounds. Everyone who post here may not be religious, but we are all atheist.

My religious friends, if you don't believe in certain specific gods, then neither do I...we share that in common. The only difference between me and you then, as far as theism goes, is that I believe in one less specific god the you do. We are both without belief in all those other gods (a-theist)

Yes dear u r right, in your sense. But all are not like that. You are a atheist if u believe in your God but do not believe in Gods of other religion. I am a Hindu, i believe and pray my God lord Siva or Jagannath but i equally respect Jisus, and Allah. It is a different matter which form of God i prefer to pay. One of the oldest saying of Hinduism is Universal Religion, u can get its sense if u please go through the sayings of Swami Vivekananda or Paramhansa Yogananda. One of the oldest saying of our religion is "Eko aham dyiutia nasti", That means there is only one God which take many forms.

The Muslims believe that Jesus is messenger of God as well as Moses and Abraham. Jesus is not a God. To the Christians he is son of God. Allah is an Arabic word for God. Allah is not a separate God to the one Christians and Jews worship. Shiva is not just one God and one God only, Shiva takes the forms of other Gods. The Muslims believe in One Only God and no other. They don't believe in idolatry either. I am not an atheist. Atheism has been described as though it were a religion. For atheists are so convinced in their righteousness that they would make you believe it as feverishly as a religious person.

Every society has religious beleifs. Even "heathens" in tribes in Africa and the American Indians had a god or gods. Evey society believes its god(s) is the true god, and all others are false.

An athiest is someone who believes that there is NO god. He believes that the universe is simply a natural phenomenon with no intelligent design. So, simply not believing in the gods of other religions doesn't make you an atheist.

Personally, as outrageous at the odds are against evolution, I find it to be much more plausible than the concept of the universe being created by F.M. (friggin magic).

Your logic is incorrect... your not defining the term atheist properly:

An atheist is one who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods. If you believe in even one god you can't be considered an Atheist.

Atheism IS a religion in the truest sense of the word. Religion can be defined as: "A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion"

If you are fighting for the "cause" of Atheism or you are devoted to the idea that there are no gods then you are religiously pursuing that cause or idea. You are in fact religious about it.

Allah is the Arabic word for God, hence how one could be an atheist only to deny Allah and believe in God?

atheists have NO religious belief. just because they do not believe in Jesus, does not make them a believer in Allah, Jehova, shiva or any other god.

they do not believe that there is a divine being of any sort. only nature and what they see, hear, smell and taste. the things you can prove without God or god in your life.

I'm not atheist about Islam at all. Muhammad spoke the satanic verses. Most muslims don't know (or just lie) about the implications of this for Islam. Islam is a satanic religion. It's behavior is fully congruent with this and has been right from the beginning.
