God in the shape of fire.

Weird eh, people start worshiping fire and then God comes along and says that if you don't worship Him, you will burn in fire.

Do you think that's where God got His idea from - watching people worship fire and then thinking, hey these people are really gullible and will probably believe me if I tell them they will burn in fire if they don't worship me. Maybe that was God seeing the light.

Clearly God has been worshipped longer, as Adam and Eve were the first people made by God, and they were the first to worship God!

That's an excellent question, and I'm curious too to get a real answer from someone.
Technically you can say that it was God, because people thought of fire as a god, but I would like to hear from someone who knows.

The best answer could be found if you could look beyond books of Yahoo Answers official faith.

Fire was itself treated as a God in Hinduism, the world's oldest faith around 3500 BC onwards; and is still treated as same. No religious offering reaches Gods unless offered to fire God (AgniDev) first, alongwith chants of his wife's name (Swaha) to please him in the most popular religious ceremony of this religion called Havana.

Fire

Well, Fire to us humans obviously predates language and therefore our modern concept of God.

However, which one's STILL being worshipped is a whole 'nother ball game.

I mean, I doubt anyone bows down to my Bic lighter as much as I'd like them to.
