We had a long term relationship, I asked him to move out bc he was being really irresponsible. I wanted him to find himself. Instead he rebounded within a few weeks with the local bar fly single girl. Without getting into the long story - I expected for him to do something like that bc he is in a emotionally shutdown state. He left all his possessions including his tools of trade at our home. His mail still comes and he has called me several times for s@# (not that we did, ok, once) ....Im usually super jealous - I know this woman. I'm not at all worried about him loving her. Only that I dont want to be the fool. I love him still and I know he still loves me. We've been thru it and back. Im convinced he will be coming back to me ...why else would he have left all his things? call me? I'd appreciate any advice or opinions. (Is I dont know meant to keep me hanging here? I think it's worth waiting for him to figure it out...) So I'll wait - for now.

I don't know means he's stringing you along until he finds someone better.

Usually "I don't know" means he's not interested and doesn't know how to tell you. Sounds like he's not ready to get back into a relationship with you... but at the same time, he's not ready to give you up completely. As long as you're there for him like you've been, he's not likely to change what he's doing.

Move on. Why would you want to keep this guy in your life? He doesn't even know who HE is or what HE wants. Find someone who is emotionally available and stable who can be there for you.

Sounds like this man is trying to figure out if he can have his cake and eat it too. You need to see the realization of it all.
