I highly recommend any GM car that has a 3.8 liter 3800 series II V6 engine, it's very reliable, low maintanence, it'll give you the power you would want, and still gives you good gas mileage. My father has a 2001 Grand Prix GT with the 3.8 liter and he has put almost 200,000 miles on it with no problems what-so-ever.

Mine, it's easy on gas (no engine), starts right away (parked at the top of a big hill) and very very quiet (again, no engine).
