I have seen several answers in which believers have said "it is impossible to MAKE someone believe...". LOL. Well, that may be so... but it is damn sure possible to make them SAY that they believe. All you've got to do is look at the history of Christianity, to see that. Oh...wait a minute... I'm sorry. I forgot. That is asking too much. Most Christians haven't got a clue about the REAL history of their religion. They just BELIEVE... on FAITH... and take, as fact, all the lies, distortions and misconceptions that are fed to them, without question.
The TRUTH is that during the ascendancy of Christianity, they FORCED the population of a whole continent to SAY that they believed... under pain of torture and death. It was very much like the Borg, on Star Trek NG: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." After a few generations, ACTUAL belief finally took hold... because there were no alternatives. Christianity had utterly destroyed all 'tainted' knowledge... that being all knowledge that did not conform to church dogma. This, of course, is why humanity descended into the Dark Ages... over a thousand years of deprivation and enforced ignorance, courtesy of Christianity.
Now, Christianity is at it again, threatening (very quietly, by tricking 'moderate' Christians into achieving political objectives under cover of a religious agenda) to drag us into a NEW Dark Ages.
Be afraid... be very afraid.
Christians who go about 'spreading the word' are totally oblivious that their gullability, and lack of discernment, has resulted in their having been unwittingly sucked up into a huge, conspiratorial, criminal business enterprise... the most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam of all time. They have no awareness at all that their 'prostletizing' is nothing more than a key component of the MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they attempt to just pester people to death, through sheer persistence and obnoxiousness.
"Selling eternal life is an unbeatable business, with no customers ever asking for their money back after the goods are not delivered." ~ Victor J. Stenger
"Businesses may come and go, but religion will last forever, for in no other endeavor does the consumer blame himself for product failure." ~ Harvard Lamphoon, "Doon" (paraphrase)

People tend to lump all Christians together... I am a Christian and I'll be the first to admit that fanatical, pushy, over-the-top Christians, though their hearts may (or may not) be in the right place, REALLY get on my nerves. I tend to notice a pattern in that some of the pushiest Christians I know are doing it for the wrong reasons, and most of it stems from a "holier-than-thou" kind of self righteousness... whether they're just trying to earn brownie points from God or they just think that everyone should be like them, I don't know... But I do see that a lot of times those people are irritating enough that they are actually pushing several people AWAY from the Faith... Again, I only know a couple of those people... Trust me, we aren't all like that.

It's impossible to force someone to have a change of heart about God. If it were possible then you would probably be a Christian, right? Telling someone about something and forcing them to believe are 2 different things.
Have you ever heard that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink? I tried to tell my Mom about my faith, but no matter what I say, she won't listen. So, I kind of gave up talking about it with her because the more I tell her the more she resists. So it is impossible to force anyone to convert.

When a person(Christian) feels that God has given them a responsibility to "Save" convert everyone they meet it probably does come off forceful. They do not know if this is your last chance before your death that you'll have to go to heaven. That is a heavy responsibility to bear. I doubt most are as forceful as you think, maybe it's your own heart urging you to consider this change. I find when something is on my heart it feels powerful & forceful.

I guess it depends. Some Christians don't try to convert people....buuuut I'd say most do. I don't appreciate somebody trying to force me into believing something I've already whole-heartedly chosen NOT to. And I am perfectly content with it! I suppose it is a lie, because you can't exactly /not/ be forceful if you're trying to change somebody's RELIGION lol.

They do not force people to convert. Christians just tell people about Christ, and if people do convert to Christianity its of their own choice.
You could say the same thing about atheists though, couldn't you? Or any other belief in fact.

If you have done your job and tried to fulfill the great commission of passing on your faith to others, you know that forcing people to convert doesn't work. Belief in God and a living a good life saves.

Who cares whether or not it is forceful? Who cares if they are lying in some way? Is it not your right to close that person off?
Why do people worry about this type of stuff? I say smoke weed, enjoy a beer, surf sunset hawaii, and have great sex with great women (excuse me, i am a guy).

It is impossible to force anyone to convert to Christianity.
It is, however, possible to be bold when you speak of the things that are dear to your heart, as our faith is.
It is also possible to make a pain in the *ss of yourself.
Lord, give me the wisdom to know the difference!

Well, once or twice when I found myself in that situation, I preached Hinduism. I love reading stories , mythologies. can throw some philosophical lines in. Knew many. told them a few. I noticed after third story usually they leave. And after fourth they stop recognising me.
