We don't need as many religions as we have. It's just that people are always disagreeing with each other about religion. So they form new religions. Many religions in the U.S. are less than 100 years old. There is no definitive source that anyone can go to and say "This is what it means to be religious," so anyone can claim to know what the real Truth is. Even the Bible has its contradictions and open questions. Look at how many religions claim to have interpreted the Bible "correctly".
And God can't reveal himself if he doesn't exist. Why would he let mankind get religion so wrong for 2,000 years and then all of a sudden arrive?

God has revealed Himself, and continues to reveal Himself. "Let those who have eyes, see, and those who have ears, hear." Unfortunately, some people refuse to see and hear of the work of God around them, opting for skepticism instead, under the mindset that "my mama didn't make no fool." For example: Our Lady of Guadalupe (the tilma of Blessed Juan Diego), Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima, the miracles of the Eucharist, the incorruptible bodies of saints, oils that flow from the bodies of apostles (which flow twice a year on the same two days even now)... God will reveal Himself in all His glory, but by then it will be too late. Believe now!
We don't need so many religions. Many have found God in their own lives but fail to find the fulness of truth. As Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, said, "You can't all be right!"

Humans make mistakes and have free will. So, everyone has their own version of what is right and what is wrong. I do not believe there will ever be one religious unification on earth. It's an impossibility. So, live by the golden rule and love your neighbor.....

If everyone lives different lives, under different conditions with different brains, how can their beliefs be "exactly" the same?
Impossible.
There are general things people agree upon but
everyone has their own unique version of belief.
This, one must accept.

We need no religion. Our religion should be humanity, a good human being. Love, peace and nonviolence should be our motive
