I don't think it's an obsession. No matter how "civilized" we get, man will always have his base instincts, which are survival and being territorial.

War has other things attached to it actually that fuel wars. There is hate, jealousy, greed, power, racisim and many others that give humans "reasons" to have a war.

Since the the time of Cain and Able (the first two sons born of Adam and Eve-the first humans created) there was hatred and jealousy and murders. Humans don't like other humans for a variety of reasons. Senseless killings and tortures of all types all seem to give the leaders of different nations or sects a type of a "power trip" or some kind of "high" that makes them want to do some more and more. The effects of war is similiar to the effects of drugs and alcohol. Wars produce more cravings to destroy and kill and this is a deadly disease spreading like wild fire across this planet!!

I hope my explanation of it all helps some what and makes sense. What do you think makes man obsessed with war?

War is a basic component of the human experience. If you ignore war, then eventually you neighbor (who didn't ignore war) will roll into town and enslave you.

Man is obsessed with war out of necessity.

Because men will only talk things out to a certain point and then it's put up or shut up. We are not women. Women will drag things out and talk about things forever!!! I'm generalizing but it's the truth.
