I looked on google and came up with the following website. It has a good article. Basically-there is not a problem as far as anyone can tell. And if there was, a doctor would not refuse pain medication, simply find a different form to give it in.

No, it won't hinder an epidermal at all. Although if you are pregnant, no reputable tattoo artist will tattoo you until after you have the baby. This is for legal reasons, as well as medical reasons that benifit you and your unborn baby. If someone will tattoo you while you're pregnant, then don't go to them. They are just after you money and don't care about the laws or your health.

If you already have the tattoo, there's nothing to worry about. However your Doctor should (and probably will) test you for HIV, and Hepititis C because you do have a tattoo.

While contracting these diseases from a sterile tattoo artist is rare, it's not uncommon for 'scratchers' or back alley tattoo artists to pass them onto their clients. (Due to them not following hygene codes, sterile codes, and health codes. These are the kind of artists who have dirty shops, and don't take tattooing seriously.)

Your tattoo artist should always use clean, sterile needles that he opens in front of you from a sterile hospital like package. His tattoo machine (not gun) should be covered by some form of plastic or baggy, as well as his power supply unit. His floor should be sterile, as well as his tools and work station. He's also always gloved while working on you.

As far as your epidermal, when they perform one they mostly go by feel (manipulating your spine with their fingers before inserting the needle/tube). The actual best thing for you to do is talk to the Doctor who will be delivering your child, and talk to your *trusted* tattoo artist.

First off its epidural, secondly It would depend on when you got the tattoo...because if you got it right before your pregnancy there might be a problem...Assuming that you arent gonna get one a day before you deliver then don't worry about it...also Don't get a C-section..even though the Dr.will reccomend i work at a hospital and they just do that so they can get you in an out faster but your baby will have a higher risk of lung related problems...because when the baby goes through the birth canal it clears its lungs with the pressure.

No, the tattoo is on the skin. An epideral is a needle in the spine.
