We keep importing poverty at an astounding rate, and if the senate has its way there would be no limits on the number of people we bring in. The neighborhood where I grew up is starting to resemble this, and as we bring in more and more poor, uneducated people that work cheaply for certain businesses, but bring their family and have a large number of kids, and don't make enough to survive without government (your) money, it seems like we are heading towards disaster.

I agree with you. Even some of the once beautiful southern cities are starting to look like barrios.

To Hardtimes: A lot of actually do the menial jobs that you are speaking of. But here is what I think, going out in front of your house or apartment and picking up your own trash and litter is free, a person can buy paint for six bucks a gallon, and you can still buy soap for fifty cents a bar. Just because you are poor doe not mean you have to live like a dirt bag. Poor and lazy are two different things!!!!!!

Oh, immigration...if you support illegal immigration because we all came here and took the land from the Native Americans, and that is your argument, then join the tens of thousands of Americans, that everyday are jumping the fence TO Mexico, Swimming through shark infested water TO Cuba and smuggling themselves in Oil tankers TO China. Give the Native Americans back their land. Just walk up to one and give him or her the key to your home and car, all the money in YOUR American bank account. Find one that is unemployed and teach that person your job so you can quit and they can work. All that was in the past. He is against it because it is created a socio-economic burden on America. You could help that out by paying 95% of your salary in taxes. At the end of the year, wher the 1040 asks how much of your refund you want, put a fat "0" on it, and include a check for the rest of your salary. Then we could afford to have illegals in our schools, overcrowding them, in our hospitals, our jails.....That would work if you and all pro-immigration people stepped up and supported them. Heck, let them all move into your home, so they won't be hungry or homeless, too. If you aren't willing to do that, starting today, then stop protesting what Bush is doing to HELP OUR country.

What we had 100-300 years ago was a wave of refugees from religious, political persecution and famine heading to America. Now we have people that just want a better way of life than trying to fix their own country. Bring them into YOUR home, and support them if you like.

As long as other countries have the ability to wipe America off the map (ie). nuclear weapons- dirty bombs- mass suicidal attacks of life and property, the "future" of the country will always be in jeopardy. Immigration is the least of our problems. Immigration is a social issue that stems from a desire to better oneself by any means necessary and that includes abusing the Govt. we as Americans hold dear. Immigration is a problem, but it's not anywhere close to our biggest problem which is:- Ignorance

Remeber that not all Americans are hard working people, and with or without immigrants poverty and people just wanting to live off the system will always be a problem.

you should check out the immigration laws from places like France, Australia, hell even Mexico.

No country on earth allows millions of totally uneducated dirt poor people into their countries.

We are suckers if we think we can support another 100 million poor here.

its already taken its toll on our country. the government admits to knowing of over 15 million illegals in country. they won't do anything as its all about giant companies and economics. in florida they know over 2 million illegals are here but if they kick them out, the growers won't have cheap crops then. they keep having more kids and collect welfare and food stamps and still work. i know of many that do this and got busted for it. they deport them only to come back again with more fake id's and papers.

The future of America does look like it's leading itself into poverty. It's not the fault of the immigrants; it's the fault of our government.

I have done menial low wage jobs my whole life. In fact, someone told me they have no respect for me doing that because I am an American, and should embrace the illegals taking my jobs, because me, my nieghborhood, and my families have no future or any place in America - only they do.

I say Bullshit I'll tell you what your future's going to be...

I think it's an attempt to replentish or preserve the three teir class system. Without poor people the system become lopsided and unstable. "The rich want to stay rich"
