Being Jewish is not a religion it's a nationality such as being Caucasion, African American, Asian, Samoan, etc. etc. The religion that most Jews follow is Judaism, so if a Jewish person was to convert to Christianity, then they would still be a Jew, they'd just be a Christian Jew.

Well it depends on what you mean by a "jewish person." A Jewish person by blood (I am 25% Jewish by blood) is usually born into jewdism but not always; i wasnt. In this case this person could be born Christian (as I was and still am), Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, etc., but they'll always be Jewish by blood. In this case I assume (just as I continue to call my self a 1/4 Jew) that a full Jew converted to a new religion will continue to acknowledge his blood and call himself a Jew by blood, but Christian [or whatever other religion] by religion. But if a peson is born Jewish not by blood but is born into the Jewish religion then when they convert to whatever religion then they have no longer apart of anything Jewish and so would not call themselves Jewish anymore.

He would, and he is. Jew is primarily a racial term. A Jew is someone born to a Jewish mother. The Jewishness which is of finest vintage is inherited Jewishness. You can convert to Judaism and be called a Jew, but Jews who were born Jews will not consider you to be as much of a Jew as they are.
In Israel there has been much racism toward the so-called Black Jews: Ethiopian converts to Judaism who were allowed to immigrate to Israel despite the fierce opposition of Orthodox Jews. The Black Jews are mocked and scorned by many of the Ashkenazim to the point where some of them have committed suicide. (The racism against Blacks in the USA is very mild by comparison.)
The real Jews, the mainstream ones, are those who belong to any of several Jewish races, primarily the Separdim or the Ashkenazim. They remain Jews even if they become atheists or converts to Christianity.
A warning to Christians: Jews are natural social chameleons who have been known to fake conversion to Christianity in order to infiltrate churches.
A real Jew is always a Jew first, not because Judaism is his religion, but because his race is a Jewish race. A Jew will immediately betray any pledge of allegience or oath of fealty, if keeping it means betraying the Jews instead.
Is that bad? Not entirely. It is wisdom to order one's personal priorities into accordance with nature's demands, and that's exactly what Jews do. Would that we White people would ignore the Jews' hypocritical "racial equality" preaching and do likewise as they do.

If an American person converts to christianity, will he still call himself an American?
Being Jewish can refer to both the religious beliefs, and simple cultural heritage.
In fact, many Jews are Christian as well, and refer to themselves as such. Just ask Jews for Jesus.

Being a Jew is belonging to the Jewish race. It has nothing to do with religion. You can have a Christian Jew, A Muslim Jew etc.Just like alot of Indonesian Malays who are Muslims, Christians, Hindus and Buddhists. The Malays are a race not a religion.

If a Jew decides to convert, he or she does not consider him or herself Jewish anymore. Hoever, under Jewish law, they are forever Jewish, should they decide to marry.
It is rare for Jews to convert. Most stay Secular Jewish and leave it at that. Some become Jews for Jesus, or study Buddhism.

The Jewish religion is the most amazing of them all.
God's chosen people.
There are two forms of Judaism, the faith Jew and blood Jew.
A Jewish person will always Jewish by blood but can still follow another religion.
A Jew can always call him/herself a Jew regardless of their faith.

It's best to think that the word 'Jewish' has two main meanings: 1) a religion and 2) a cultural / ethnic group. He remains the latter but ceased to be the former.
Most agnostic or atheist Jews still apply the word 'Jew' to themselves to acknowledge their history.

They can. Many call themselves Mesianic Jews or some even go so far as to say they are Completed Jews. Paul still called himself a Jew at times after his conversion experience. (Acts 21:39 Paul answered, "I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Please let me speak to the people." -NIV)

Yup - Anyways, The Jewish people are automatically God's people. Remember God will automatically take 144,000 people of Israel directly to heaven. That is so cool!!! In Revelations it is plainly stated. As a christian - God still loves us but, we do not have that immediate privledge of being one of 144,000! (Do not worry, just because you are in the United States or any other country does not mean that you are not disqualified in possibly being one of 144,000.
So if you are going to become a christian - you will still be a Jew.
God Bless and God Loves YOU!
