I will be honest with you I am not a doctor or anything but, I think it's different for each woman because all women are made up differently, example:
I am 38 years-old I have had 1 child almost 21 years ago and when I was having her I was told that I would never be able to give birth normally to a large child because my womb was small, so is my Virgina, not only that, it is on a tilt.
I ended up having my daughter normally but, she was at least 1 month early and she only weighed 4lbs. 8oz. and I think 18 inches long, do you know how tiny that is? real tiny, anyway she is almost 21 years-old and beautiful but my point is the way of knowing about your body is to go to your doctor okay and do not be afraid to ask all of the questions that you want and need to ask because if you do not know about you who will? and who will take care of you?

i believe your cervix stays pretty high up when you are about to get your period. most of the time you cervix does not come down extremly low unless you are at the end or close to the end of your pregnancy.
