Your personal morality says, you don't believe in pre-marital sex.
That's good. Stick to your moral values, that means you have integrity. Which is more than most people can say.
This has nothing to do with religion. It's your own personal value system. Stick to it.
People who call you a "christian" or say your "religion" makes you think this way, have had a bad experience with Christians or religion, plain and simple. And it is THEY who are trying to impose THEIR morality on YOU, by grouping you with "those people" they dislike because it's easy for them to put you in that box.
Ignore them and they will go away.

People don't always like being told that they are doing a wrong thing. It makes them uncomfortable to be confronted with their own fallibility.
Most youths instinctively know that premarital sex is wrong,or else they wouldn't go to such trouble to hide their activities from the people they really look up to,like parents or a minister.
Still, those of us who take this stand must also realize that not everyone is willing to exercise the same restraint and self discipline that you have committed to for whatever your reason, whether religious or not.
I happen to be a christian,so this is why I subscribe to a lifestyle of chastity and self-control.But even if you fall off the wagon so to speak,it doesn't mean that you're going to boil in oil in hell.Simply get back up again, and don't let anyone use your failure as a whip to keep you down in the mud.Keep on taking the high road.

Because people assume a lot. They're used to hearing from religious people, especially Christians, how they disagree with gay marriage, premarital sex etc., so when they meet someone who disagrees with those things people tend to assume that the person is a Christian. It's just another stupid assumption people make.

I disagree with a lot of things, but don't really feel morally obligated to share my opinions with EVERYONE. It's none of my buisness how other people choose to live their lives.
Would you really want everyone else to think exactly the way you do?
Give me a break! It doesn't make someone rude because they don't believe in the bible. What an arrogant statement from stantonhoem.
You are such a good judgemental christian. Aren't you.

Probably because most people who are vocal about these things now are arguing them as a result of the Bible. If you have your own reasons for feeling as you do, that's great. It's actually better, whatever one's religion is, to think about these things and decide what is best instead of just parroting the party line about morality. I'd just tell people the real reasons you feel as you do. If you don't have time to get into it, it would be better to keep your opinions to yourself, since people are liable to jump to conclusions if you don't have time to be clear. People these days are rather touchy about having other people tell them about right and wrong since so many are so bossy about it. The people sho react rudely to you are probably just sick of hearing it from people who ARE Christian, and don't want to hear the same thing over and over again.

Maybe it is a pang of conviction? they know you are basically right from a moral viewpoint but use the "bible" dodge to alleviate their feelings of being "wrong?"People are realizing that promiscuity is a fast track to trouble as well as the disease end of the argument. If you follow the trail long enough your progeny is the ones who pay the price for your misjudgment in the form of broken familys and hearts and feelings they are not able to comprehend? It might be better to wait for committment and a lasting and respectful relationship? anyone can have sex and create a baby? but it takes a special discernment to be a mother or father and to be there for a long committment.Stand your convictions!!

Because it is a biblical argument. I understand what you are saying though, especially for young people. Sex is wonderful if you are in love and ready for commitment, but otherwise it is like a drug that can ruin lives. How many children were born to sexaholics, alcoholics and drug abusers? And, then we wonder why children are so often in trouble. Look at their genetic make up. Even with older people, sex can ruin lives with STD's and the like. I agree with you, until you are ready for a life committment with a person, no sex.

I don't agree with you. I think premarital sex is great, but at the same time you are entitled to your opinion and shouldn't be scorned for it. Maybe find new friends, cause these ones now don't seem to respect your opinion.

I believe that you can be and practice any religion that you may choose.......only God can make the call and judge you! If you agree or disagree with other people that is perfectly OK, but I think that outside the church you should expect controversy when you try to PREACH your beliefs and religion......everyone is entitle to their own beliefs and opinions. There is no right or wrong in the human world.....it is in Gods hands and he is our maker and our judge! I wouldn't let other people's comments bother you.....you are entitle to your own!
