For many god is anything you put before the one True Living God. Jehovah the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. If you worship your car or people or images of gods then you can see them or "attain them". Otherwise only through a holy and sanctified life and you experience the One and only God. You probably will not see Him but experience Him until the end of this short life we have on this earth.

God is who you need Him or Her to be. I will not even get into how many there are, if more than one. If you follow a religion, you can often get a good answer from your priest, rabbi, minister or whatever you call your teacher in that faith. There are many books on the subject and one place you can usually find them is in your local library. I even came across on explanation of God in a Star Trek novel, can't remember the name, in which one of the major characters was a crystalline spider who liked Scotty. The recreation director worked for McCoy and he was an alien of some description. His belief was one I've always liked -- "We are all part of God. We can choose to live as separate entities (for example, humans) but while we are doing so we forget that we are part of God. Then, when we die we return to God and have the opportunity to live separately again if we wish." That's not a real quote but I just set it apart. I have no idea if this even approaches truth, or for that matter the story line, but it does sound interesting. Piers Anthony tells some good stories in his Immortals series where entities such as Time (Chronos), War (Mars), Death (Thanatos), etc., are actually Humans doing a job. If you're interested, recommend you read the entire series in order and the last one is And Eternity which talks about God. You need to read them in sequence to get familiar with the major characters.

My brother last week thought he was God, and I have had moments that I felt like God. It's really perception. All joking aside, I have an innate sense though that God gets pretty pissed off when someone puts an "A" in front of his name.

Gaia is a god, insofar as the earth. Hestia is a god, insofar as the act of harvesting happens. God is a god, in so far as existence takes place, but we might as well just talk about the earth, or harvesting, or existence.

God:
Who is one and only
Who is not born
Who is not the father of anyone ofus
Who has no needs
The lord of us all.
The most obedient people would be able to see Allah the Almighty at the day of resurrection.
