No, the war is not between Isreal and Lebanon, but Isreal and the Hezbollah.
Yes we created many things during the Cold War, but nobody is placing any of the blame on the former Soviet Union either. The world was to be divided, and we had to have allies. We did not choose the leaders of those countries, but we supported the ones in place to stop the Communist Aggression (yes, even Saddam was aided-especially against Iran--or did you forget the 444 days?).
We do not choose violence, it chooses us. In order for me to fully believe that you believe violence can be ended, start with your own small piece of the world. Stop all violence and crime in your own town. Stop Drunk Drivers, Robberies, Rape, Torture, Child Abuse, Reckless Drivers....the list goes on. People have a desire to break the law. I'm sure you have INTENTIONALLY drove faster than the speed limit, crossed a street against a red light (even if nobody is there, it is still illegal)..something illegal yourself.
Wars are started when people develop power and use it to further their greed, hatred or beliefs. World War II was a result of Hitler hating Jews and being greedy. He spread throughout Europe amassing riches AND exterminating Jews at every turn. The War on Terrorism is a simple case of our survival. To compare it, we are Hitler's Jews, but we are fighting back. Al-Qaeda does not have borders, they are a fanatical, religious extremist group bent on the utter destruction and extermination of all Judeo-Christians in the world. They are attacking the strongest first (USA and Isreal) in order to exterminate anyone raised in that culture of infidelity, even American Muslims will be killed. After us, the world will fall without the great protector to save them. "There is but one God, and Allah is His name." This is not a war of politics, borders, money...it is a war to annihalte us, and to save our very existence. Osama even offered to pull all of Al-Qaeda ("insurgents") out of Iraq, "leave them to govern themselves, if we pulled all troops out of Iraq, then we could continue our battle in the streets and towns of America" to keep it going. Do you want to wake up to a Saber to YOUR throat because you are an American? The very rights and freedoms you have, that allow you to choose YOUR religion, or even a lack of it, are the reasons they want YOU dead. Hezbollah are religious terrorist from many countries, hiding in Lebanon, using Lebanon as a base to attack Isreal. Do not hate the Isrealis for killing innocent Lebanese, hate Hezbollah for forcing the Isrealis to chase them in to Lebanon and starting the fighting. Lebanon and Isreal actually get along.
We are not being violent, we are defending our right to exist. If you want to help their cause, end your own life now, and that will be one less for them to kill. If this upsets you, to know they want your entire family to die, your sisters and brothers beaten and killed, your mother's head sawed off, then do something to stop all of this. Raise awareness, enlist and defend, volunteer around your community, talk to people....do something, but don't listen to those that are sympathizers and getting rich from this war.

No, the Israelis and most of our media are lying as usual.
But here's the truth people :)
"basically the current stage of what's going on -- there's a lot more -- begins with the Hamas election, back the end of January. Israel and the United States at once announced that they were going to punish the people of Palestine for voting the wrong way in a free election. And the punishment has been severe.
At the same time, it's partly in Gaza, and sort of hidden in a way, but even more extreme in the West Bank, where Olmert announced his annexation program, what’s euphemistically called “convergence” and described here often as a “withdrawal,” but in fact it’s a formalization of the program of annexing the valuable lands, most of the resources, including water, of the West Bank and cantonizing the rest and imprisoning it, since he also announced that Israel would take over the Jordan Valley. Well, that proceeds without extreme violence or nothing much said about it.
Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.
The next stage was Hezbollah's abduction of two Israeli soldiers, they say on the border. Their official reason for this is that they are aiming for prisoner release. There are a few, nobody knows how many. Officially, there are three Lebanese prisoners in Israel. There's allegedly a couple hundred people missing. Who knows where they are?
But the real reason, I think it's generally agreed by analysts, is that -- I’ll read from the Financial Times, which happens to be right in front of me. “The timing and scale of its attack suggest it was partly intended to reduce the pressure on Palestinians by forcing Israel to fight on two fronts simultaneously.” David Hearst, who knows this area well, describes it, I think this morning, as a display of solidarity with suffering people, the clinching impulse."

When the American people stop their government from sending a total of $90 Billion of their taxes to Israel to support their barbaric acts then the fighting will stop.

And also when the American people stop their governments from vetoing any chance of a peaceful settlement, then maybe there will be an agreement.

Everyone feels bad for Lebanon, including Israel. The fact is, they let Hezbollah use their land to attack Israel, so yes, the attacks on Lebanon are justified.
When both countries come together to rid themselves of this hideous and murderous, terror organization, the destruction will stop. Unless, of coarse Syria and Iran thinks they can keep it up without actually getting directly involved.
Once that happens, this thing will really ratchet up. If other countries become active, I see no way for the US to stay out of it.

neither side is justified. The Israelis shouldn't be persecuted by Hezbolla and the Israelis are killing innocent people. The only way to stop the conflict is to use the U.N. or have a joint force of strong nations.

Absolutely YES.. But keep in mind.. it is NOT a war between Israel and Lebanon.. It is a war between Israel and that of Iran and Syria ON THE SOIL of Lebanon... Syria and Iran are using Lebanon as a springboard to attack Israel. Lebanon has for a Number of years, allowed Syria and now Iran to use their soil for attacks against Israel so... YES.. go for it Israel

very. i think that all arab countries should ban together and kick the zionist pigs out of power. someday the american people will reconize just how evil their own corrupt government is for supporting these terrorists. just think how many thousands of people israel has slaughtered since it's illegal existance and how israel has weapons of mass destruction who by the way uses it against people who have mere rockets and have to blow themselves up to get revenge after their fellow country men have been tortured, and slaughtered. i think the american people are ignorant as a whole to how hipocraitical america is for supporting these people. the american government does not care enough about their own people but yet back israel? look at all the natural disasters over here and how many thousands of homeless and all the crime over here that the government ignores. how can america support israel who commits acts of terrorism against the palestinians every day. i will state the reason israel does not have a right to exist is from their own torah. it states that israel is not to be taken by force ever! that israel is supposed to be given to them by their promised messiah which obviously did not happen in 1948 and many jews are against israel. zionist use this for their political propganda. the americans and british have done nothing but aid in terrorism. the arabs did not perform a haloucaust on jews it was extremist christians who have done it and i'll be darned of extremist christians did not place jews over on stolen arab land to promote even more kaos. this war is on the hands of the israelis, british, and americans. this would be like the native americans and mexicans comming to reclaim their land after the british settlers slaughtered their people to steal it. amazing how americans would call those people terrorists as well right. do they have a right to their land back? remember the jews were exiled by god for worshipping a ram. this is their punishment. i believe the only way to stop this is for the american people as well as british people to stop supporting israel and giving them foreign aid.wake up to all this hipocraicy and leave the middle east all together. stop supporting the iraq war. god will judge all the supporters of war agaisnt the middle east justly.

the reaction from Israel being attacked is in my opinion justified. It may not be smart, but they were attacked on two fronts that they did not occupy.
I do not believe that the muslims want a resolution to all of this. They say they want Israel out, but they left Gaza and the muslims wont stop attacking them? What would you have them do?

Its a score. He hit me, so I got hit him back. Its kind of childish and rather gay. But understandable, if they were to murder my father or daughter I would be pretty pissed off..This has been happening on both sides for millenia. It was a mistake to put the jews in jerusalem, they should have placed them in Angola. However, now that it is done. I suggest placing all Isralites in Nebraska (as their own 'place on this earth'), giving them 200 billion to shut up, and American citizenship. This should fairly make the jewish Americans not go bezerk, and then you get the muslims to be happy by giving them Israel and get them to shut up and be happy for us recognizing the "jewish injustice" so they calm down.
Then we internationalize jerusalem, because it is not only an important icon for judaism, but for christianity and islam as well...
and then wham! you have world peace.

Yes. Lebanon has been allowing terrorist attacks on Israel to be launched from their soil. This makes them a party to the conflict and Israel can legitimately strike back.
You you shoot at somebody you do not have much room to complain when they shoot back.
