God created the angels. They were good and beautiful. But some rejected God, and became evil. These are devils (including Satan). That's the basic explanation.

If the Devil was created by God, God allowed evil to exist. If not then the devil created God and is therefore more powerful than God. Either way it's a conundrum. I prefer to think that God allowed evil to exist as a way to give us free will. Without the possibility of evil, we would only have one choice, the will of God. We would then be nothing but puppets, and Children are far more entertaining than puppets.

Rev 12:7, Isaiah14:12-15God created angels. One in particular decided that He was better than the one that created him. God allows Lucifer, Satan, the Devil to continue until the end of time when according to Matthew 25:41 Hell fire as been reserved just for him and his followers.

In the begininning, (WAY back!), there was no devil! The would-be-devil resided as an angel in heaven, who WAS created by God. This angels name was Lucifer. However, Lucifer became jealous of God, and wanted to rise up to a greater position then God Himself! Of course, God cast Him out of heaven. But Luficer wasn't done yet; he gathered 1/3 of the angels to come with him and be his demons. Hell was made originally for Satan and his minions, but those who refuse God will also go there!

Yes God created the devil but before he was not a devil he was a angel then he became a rebellion and went against God... that is when he became a monster like he is now..

Man created the devil just like man created god - since inventing fictional beings is free, they thought they may as well get two for the price of one. Also makes the soap opera story line of religion more interesting, although no more believable.

i cannot say if God created lucifer or not., because that is another issue that cannot be proven by strict historical and archeologica findings....so far.
that said however, if God created all things as i am taught, then he brought into being the heavens and the earth. the earth was populated by man and heaven was populated with angels.
i cannot speak for God as to why he created man and the angels, but if it were me, all alone with no one to interact with, and i had the power, then i would probably create as well.
angels have many purposes in religious history. they have been messengers of God, appearing before humans, they hold the powers to intercede (at God's will) to assist humans.
it is believed by my faith that at the "end of times" as depicted in revelations, it is the angels hands who will cast the plagues upon the earth and it's inhabitants.
lucifer was not only the most beautiful of angels, he was also in a position of authority over the heavens and the earth, second only to God.
then free will reared it's ugly face and convinced lucifer that he should rule all that exists. he bowed up to God and got ***** slapped for his efforts.
lucifer said that he'd rather "rule in hell, than serve in heaven."
a prospect i cannot imagine. i will be grateful to get into heaven at all.

Interestingly the authors of the old testament - Jews - do not believe in a devil. And Judaism makes it crystal clear that 'Satan' is an angel doing the work 'God' assigned to Satan to do.

God didn't create Satan on purpose. Satan was at one time the top 3rd Angel but he was jealous of God and left with about half of all the Angels. That is why fallen Angels can NEVER go back to Heaven, because they new God had made them but they chose Satan over God willingly.
