I would not use that on my dogs. I have two greys. I use a rubber mitt to groom them. The Furminator is made of stainless steel. I would worry about that going over their ribs or backbones. It just looks like it would be too harsh. I think the rubber mitts work very well.

I have a weimaraner, and I don't use it in her. I think the coat is similar to a greyhound. I do use it on my other dags and cat. The blade seems to harsh for her, since her hair is so short, and on her tummy she has none. I use a rubber grooming mitt on her.

Lab Rat gave you an excellent answer. Greyhounds have very thin coats, sensitive skin and prominent bones. Don't use any harsh brushes!

I agree with not using the tool. But if you use the solution and then strip the hair with something gentiler, you might get better results.
