I would like to know what practicing Christians think about Israel. Do you believe that this land belongs to the Jewish people as it was promised to them in the Old Testament? Or do you think they lost claim to that land when they did not accept Jesus as the Messiah as I have heard some say? What are your opinions on the US's continued support of Israel? Please try to include citations if you claim a historical fact. Thanks.

Please do not use this question as an opportunity to rant, spout hatred, insult faiths or ethnicities, or to make threats. This has becoming too common in threads posted regarding Israel.

Yes, God did give them the land. And God sent them into exile for rejection Him. But God did say that He would bring them back also. The Land that Israel now sits on belongs to them. That land was purchased for them after WW II. The have the deed to it. The Arabs changed their mind after the fact. This is what started the conflict. In Islam it is acceptable to lie in dealing with non-Muslims if Islam or the Muslim can benefit. This has long been the Problem with Israel and the Muslims. This is why ALL negotiations with Muslims fail. They can lie in the negotiations to get what they want, then change after-wards. If Islam could be taken out of this picture-the problem would be over.

Israel is triumphing the battles and dropping the conflict. There are 3 subjects which forestall peace - the status of Jerusalem, the main appropriate of Palestinian return, and Israel's withdrawal from the lands gained in 1967. On all and sundry, Israel has the top hand for the present and has to take care of its useful components. The stability of potential is shifting against Israel. Iran will gain nuclear weapons interior a 365 days or 2 and the US failure to create a democratic and Western leaning Iraq and upcoming withdrawal brings back one extra enemy. the US economy is fragile and based on Arab and different distant places investments. the middle East is turning out to be much less secular and foes like Hezbollah are ambitious combatants, as shown interior the Lebanon invasion 2 years in the past . there's a cadre of nicely knowledgeable and skilled insurgents in Iraq who've mauled a protection stress of tens of 1000's for years at a time. And Barrack Hussein Obama takes place of work in 3 weeks. it is an attempt to alter the awful place of Israel - a throw of the cube.

Do you mean the State of Israel? Your question isnt clear.
The Old Testament, if you are looking at legal questions,
isnt as important as the United Nations which recognized the State of Israel in 1948.
However, there are 100s of references in the bible that support the claim for 5000 years of Jewish presence in the middle east.

I am a christian and I do believe that the land belongs to the Jewish people. God said in the New Testament "I curse those who curse the Jews" therefore; I don't believe God would curse them, either. Israel has long been an ally to the United States, so I do believe we owe them NOTHING but our continued support.

Just my opinion, and well, you know what they say about that...lol.

She expressed her opinion but asked yours..
The Jews are Gods chosen people and that land is theirs. Actually they have more land than they occupy, but will have to fight for it to take it back. Even though they rejected the Messiah they are still God's people and he will come back to Israel when he comes. Soon the 144,000 will start assembling to preach the gospel and the temple will be rebuilt. It will happen fast, so be ready. It will happen in the middle of war also

Although they are small in number so far there are still many Jews that have received Jesus as they're savior.Besides that we are still commanded by God to pray for peace in Jerusalem and that they are still his chosen people. the bible refers to this current age as the age of the gentiles, which will come to a end . In Revelations it mentions 144 thousand Jews from all the tribes of Israel.

And Im all for supporting Israel in every way we can!

sounds like you already made up your mind so i'm not sure i should say.

but you can toss that "they lost claim to that land when they did not accept Jesus as the Messiah" nonsense right out the door. as for continued support of US? what? we should cut off relations with one of our closest allies?

do you realize there are more Jews in USA than in Israel? 5,602,000 in america. 4,390,000 in Israel. hmmm.

I believe it belongs to me and anyone else that has accepted the truth of what God told Abraham, that he would make his seed greater than the sands of the sea,and what Jesus said if ye were Abraham's seed then you would believe me. To me there will always be fighting in that region because they do not line up with the word of God.I have been grafted in because of the Jews unbelief.

Christians who support Israel are usually those who have read the Bible, and have read up on the Arab-Israeli Conflict
