I have seen a lot of religious bias and pushiness on Yahoo answers, but in reality those who are truly religious and possess the Holy Spirit are not pushy. God loves all of us no matter what religion we choose to believe in. Being "saved", or Catholic Christian, Protestant Christian, Muslim or Jew, and even atheist does not make us better than others, because we all individually must work on our own salvation every day of our lives. Each and every time we sin we must come to repentance to be forgiven, so when the Lord comes to take us, our salvation is complete.
I think that those who are pushy (at least the way I have see it on Yahoo answers) are acting arrogantly and giving a bad name to religion. If we truly understand God's teachings, we Know that He is All Loving, ALL Forgiving, and All Compassionate toward all of His children, and that is what we are, no matter what we believe in. Jesus died for us all, not just those who profess Christianity now. I happen to be a Catholic Christian and I would never talk to anyone who has another faith in a condescending way, and I absolutely would never assume that I am better than anyone or have a better chance at salvation. Catholicism taught me that if you are a true Christian you will love everyone as yourself and God above all things. If I truly love God, then I would not want to hurt him by scorning others. Jesus was a friend of the sinners, not their enemy, because he wanted to win them over to His Kingdom, not scare them further away. Catholicism also taught me to not judge others, because only God knows the heart of everyone. There are very pious people who go to church and parade their aires of superiority and look down their noses at anyone who is not like them(just like the Pharisees), but we must remember that Jesus said, "Verily, I say to you, even the tax collectors and the prostitute will go to heaven before the Pharisees".That was because of their "pushiness" and prideful arrogance. On the other hand, there are some very good people with humble and generous hearts who never go to church or profess a particular faith. Who do you think God will be happier with, these people or the pushy ones? At least I think He would be happier about the ones with the humble and generous heart, even if they were not by subscription a "Christian" or a "Muslim", etc. There are many saints that went a good part of their lives as sinners and then later were converted in a powerful way to see the truth and the light. That is why Jesus said "Judge not that ye be not judged by the same measure that you have judged others". We are all imperfect beings no matter if we are "saved" or not, so,
PLEASE EVERYONE WHO IS BEING PUSHY ABOUT YOUR RELIGION ON THIS SITE, DON'T YOU SEE THAT YOU ARE MAKING WAR AND NOT PEACE?
DON'T YOU SEE THAT SOME PEOPLE WHO MIGHT EVEN BE PERSUADED TO BELIEVE ARE TURNED OFF AND MAYBE AWAY FROM THE IDEA THAT THERE IS A GOD?
DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS NOT WHAT GOD TEACHES US TO DO, BUT RATHER TO BE KIND, AND PRAY FOR OTHERS IF WE THINK THEY HAVE TURNED THE WRONG WAY, NOT SHOVE IT DOWN THEIR THROATS?
AND HAVEN'T YOU UNDERSTOOD YET THAT WE MUST LEAVE ALL JUDGMENT TO GOD ALONE LEST WE OURSELVES BE JUDGED BY THE SAME MEASURE?
I truly apologize to you, Isabel Rice, and all the others out there who might be intimidated by the "religious" answerers, I hope you do come to realize that the majority of us are not that way at all. I welcome anyone to get into an intelligent discussion about certain subjects even we don't share the same opinions or beliefs., and I do not "Bash" anyone.

Some religious people just want to spread the word of what following "Jesus" can do for you....We are so happy to have found our faith that we want to share what it has done for us. I do not consider that being pushy on my part.....I just hope everyone will be prepared for when the end comes....God Bless You!

They are not pushy,they are duty bound to tell the truth and not hiding the the facts and to guide the human race to the right path

the only pushy ones I know are Jehovah's
Witnesses. They think they can EARN their way into heaven.
They will come to your door, leave their tracts, ect.

Because they are afraid. They are too far gone to admit that spirituality has nothing to do with religion to such a point that they want you to be on their side.

They need to prove their religion to others...that is all the defines them as a person.
