Why do people who go to church seem to think they are better than those of us who choose not to go?

The Christian write C.S. Lewis once wrote that the prostitute sitting in the back pew has a better chance of making it to heaven than the religious prig sitting in the front row. The reason that some people like to wear their faith on their sleeve is because of pride. Pride is the enemy of Christ and the food of the devil. To go to church or not to go to church is a personal choice---like most everything else in life. The Bible commands Christians to fellowship with one another in a gathering that is known as the physical body of Christ---the church. If you can find a good, Bible believing church, one that is small, I think that you would enjoy the fellowship. Jesus loves and he wants you to fellowship with him in his house. Ignore the prigs---their time is short.

There are people who are born rich who never had to work a day in there lives that think they are better then anyone else and some of these people have never even set foot in a church people are people Satan to thought he was better Wrong. Believe me not all people who go to church are like this there are a lot of people who go to church who will find there self's in hell i have said this many times going to church doesn't make you a Christian like standing in your Garage doesn't make you a car Jesus ministry was not in the church but out in the world were the sinners were people asked why are you eating with the thief beggars and prostitutes Jesus loves all the people not just the people who are in church

I am not sure if I really know. I lived in a community like that. If you did not go to the "in" church, then you were lower than whatever, and they acted like they pooped ice cream.

Though I have a better question. (Know that I am very spiritual person) How is it that people can go to church, and then act like they did not listen or participate in anything that just happened? I have yet to understand the person that is religious but not spiritual.

They are just stuck-up jackasses. That's why I don't go to church. Who wants to sit around a bunch of self righteous hypocrites who think so highly of themselves they don't hear a word of what's being taught in the sermon?

I believe they have some silly idea that 1) we are going to burn in hell and they aren't or 2) God actually wants them to.

Because they have been brainwashed into believing that this is the only way to get into heaven.

Because they are so "pious"! Steer clear of these "types". Mostly they are "sheep" that cannot think for themselves & are "gullible" & naturally "easily led".!
