We will end with a whimper, not a bang. Pollution, the destruction of renewable resources & the environment and global warming will all contribute to our end. The proven lack of resolve to met such issues if the solutions might damage our economy or national interests will mean we reach a tipping point before we are prepared to make the necessay sacrifices to reverse obvious trends. As resources become scarser, and ready options less available, I think that the process will be abetted by human conflict.
Not a pretty picture, but anyone got a roseier one?

The people from the Middle East, they will buy all the planes, boats, transportation, and take over the shipping ports because our government will let them. Right now we are training them to learn how to kill us, and fly planes in to our buildings. Our security is lax, people are lazy. There are many excuses made why this happens and why that happens. the U.S. will be taken over by outsiders and we will be killed off. Then shortly after that the world will explode into a tiny million pieces and maybe God will create the world all over again. Then history will repeat it's self, who knows?
