If I know puppies, they will not get used to loud noises till they know that things like that wont hurt them. Its not the noise issue- pets are always just afraid they will get hurt. Gain his trust first, then try when he is at least a year old. My name is Dr. Patterson. Im a vet, so I know what Im doin. Good luck!
PS loud noises will always scare dogs. For his sake, hide him somewhere quite. When I was younger, my street had partys every year and we got a firetruck and a police car to come. they used the sirens and it made uncomfortable noises for my neighbers dog. He was scared, so when my old friend went inside to check on him, he bit her, and they had to put him down (dead wise). Again, for your dogs sake, keep him in a safe place inside

Our 10 year old lab still barks and whines at the fireworks(and lighting).I don't think there is any way to get a dog use to it.You can ask around some trainer might have ideas, they may be able to give some advice on making the loud noises more bare-able for your dog. Exposing her at this young of an age could help, I would recommend protecting her still developing hearing.See if you can't get her to wear ear plug(you may have to fashion your own so they are big enough for her ears)!

Good question. PPl who train hunting dogs have to work pretty carefully not to expose puppies to gunshot. Like fireworks, the loud bang could frighten them and then those puppies will not be useful in the field, for hunting. If they are introduced to the loud bang and feel safe and secure.. it should be ok..but talk to someone who trains hunting dogs. You should get your answer.
Just a footnote
My shih tzu runs for the washroom during a thunder storm. Any sign of thunder and that's where he is.

Fireworks are something a dog can't get 'used' to. Most dogs run and hide because their hearing is much more sensitive than ours. Do your puppy a favor and leave her at home.

Tape record firework sounds (different types of sounds) then play it at a very very low volume while you play with your dog (with an activity she really likes) Do this every so often , but each time increase the volume of the tape recording. This way she associates the sound with something fun (like you playing with her). Eventually she will gradually lose fear of the sound.

NO, it hurts their ears. Just over the Fourth, Vets were telling people to lock their dogs in a room. Out of fear they'll run and could get hurt or lost.

do it gradually. introduce her to loud sounds starting out with not so loud ones and ending with loud ones. chances are your dog is scared of the sound of fireworks and needs to get used to loud sounds.
