God gave us this planet to live on. Don't you think we should take care of it?

There is no official LDS viewpoint on global warming. Members of the Church are encouraged to study the issues of the day and make wise decisions regarding them. Is there global warming? Maybe. Is man responsible for global warming if it exists? It is possible, but it is also possible that God is causing global warming for his own purposes, if global warming is real.
Mormons tend to be conservative, and are not given to rush off after every new fad of scientific alarmism. Whether you believe in global warming or not is up to you to decide. But if you believe man is somehow spoiling the earth by his actions, God will hold you responsible for what you do about it.

As individuals, we probably all vary in our commitments. Some people recycle. Some people don't. and so on. As members, we are encouraged to take good care of the earth. It is one of God's creations and we should treat it well.
Here are a couple of quotes from prophets:
"What then shall you do with Jesus that is called Christ? This earth is his creation. When we make it ugly, we offend him." —Gordon B. Hinckley
"We recommend to all people that there be no undue pollution, that the land be taken care of and kept clean, productive, and beautiful." —Spencer W. Kimball
