my mom and everybody else tells me if i am not a virgin no guy will want to marry me. I think she is full of Bull crap. I'm still young and not really thinking about sex yet, but tell me waht you think. (My mom is full of sh*t, right?)

Although many dudes want virgins because they think they're discovering something for the first time, most guys accept that women aren't. The majority of the population is sexually active. Actually, 2/3 of all high school seniors report that they are sexually active. But it's up to you. Do your research, find what's right for you, and follow your brain, not your genitals. Whatever you do, realize the risks of being active and take necessary precautions....condoms, birth control, etc. Just do the world a favor and don't believe that "coitus interruptus" is an effective birth control technique.

In this day and age virginity isn't really the issue. Yes, some guys would prefer to marry a virgin but to most guys it really doesn't matter. As long as your faithful and havn't walked away from a previouse partner pregnant or diseased (this would be a worst case scenario) you have nothing to worry about.
I think your mother is just trying to protect you and her intentions are good. Regardless, her statement that no man will marry a woman who is not a virgin is false.

There are those that prefer a virgin mostly dealing with culture and ethnic background. But in todays world in the US any way people are more free about sex and don't wait till marriage like they used to. I would say the majority would love to marry a virgin but are willing to sacrifice that and don't really make a decision based on that alone

I'd have a very hard time marrying a non virgin. Possibly if it was just once or it wasn''t her fault. But if I marry a girl and sleep with her and she's been with 5 other guys...it's like I'm having sex with them two because if they had any kind of disease, chances are it'd be passed on to me. The best way to be sure you won't get any is to find a girl that waited...just like I plan to do.

Yes you are thinking about sex, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered to make your post. You don't know your own self.
Since you didn't give your age, anyone has to assume you are the one full of it. Until you are ready to open and honest you are definitely not ready to even consider having sex. It will destroy you in ways that are totally invisible to you.
Regardless of the reason or what men think of virgins (which depends more on ethnic cultures than anything) you need to mind your mother. She is protecting you so give her some respect.

It depends on what YOU want. Do you want to be valued and respected by your husband or would you prefer that he just look at you like you're a good lay? But you also have to find a man that will appreciate a woman who is willing to save herself. I know a girl that saved herself for her husband. He married her, had sex with her a couple of times and then had the marriage annulled (true story). You can save yourself all you want, but if you don't find the right person to marry you, it won't be worth it.
So wait-don't give up and make sure that the person is someone who will value you and appreciate you for having the self-respect to save yourself for someone special.

Some men appreciate women saving themselves for marriage. This is not too common these days. No it isn't true. You will find someone who loves you. Just be careful to not get pregnant until marriage. That is the most important part. Your mother may just be trying to scare you into not having sex. Her concerns are genuine. Remember these days...1 in 4 people are infected with an STD. Be careful who you sleep with & please use protection.

beleive or not us men respect women and their choices even if u r a virgin. it is admarable and very innocent of u and i hope that when u do decide to lose your virginity it is with some who treats u like an angel and is very special with. it is really, really important that it be with someone who is as in love as u. please dont give it up just to any guy. Make them earn your love. Thats why they call it LOVE MAKING not SEX MAKING.

Your mom is doing her job. What she is really saying is that no man worth marrying wants to marry someone who is 16 with 2 kids and vaginal warts. The problem is, you are too young to understand what sex is, how to protect yourself, and certainly to deal with its consequences. In that regard, your mom is 100% correct!
