I feel wrong. I feel like I try and let Jesus into my life. And I'm trying hard to lead myself away from temptation. And when I slip, I repent and ask God for forgiveness. And I really mean it. I've asked him into my life. And I'm seeing a shift,But I'm just so afraid of Jesus telling me to depart when I get to heaven. I have this constant anxiety every day. And It's killing me inside.

...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 4 v 13

The true, albeit, easy answer is to tell you that it doesn't matter HOW many times you fall down (sin), if you'll get up (repent and ask for forgiveness) just ONE MORE TIME THAN YOU FALL DOWN, YOU WIN!

But you say you're 15. That's the toughest time in anyone's life, because everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, in your life is changing with speed and NO control on your part. Becoming a mature adult ain't for sissies, young 'un. There's no way to ease past it, no way to skip around it. All you can do is clutch Jesus by the hand (so to speak), and tough it out, one day at a time. Trite, yes. A cliche', definitely. But do you know WHY they're cliches'?

Because they are so self-evidently true that when you hear one your first reaction is a groan and your first thought is, Well, of course!

Cliches' are the distilled wisdom of humanity in easily comprehensible form. And right now, you don't NEED any more complications. You got enough to cope with making the adjustment to a whole new body, a whole new way of looking at the world and the people in it.

So for this, get simple, just for a while. Use the cliches' wherever they apply to your case. Get yourself a "Bartlett's Familiar Quotations" and read some every day. It will help. It won't solve anything for you; that you gotta do on your own. But it WILL help.

I'll be bending God's ear on your behalf.

Hey you're not alone! It's amazing to me that you should post this question at this time because I've felt the same way many times, too. I'm struggling with it now as a matter of fact.

I think the thing that helps most is to rely on the promises Jesus gave in His word. He wouln't have said them if He didn't mean them. Like Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am He who blot out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remember your sins no more."

And dont forget, good ol' John 3:16, " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Me shall not perish but have everlasting life."

To think that God will reject you when you get to heaven, is to think that God's love is conditonal. The whole Bible is about God NOT being conditional. How many times did He pull the Isreaites thru-even after They told HIM to flake off?? Pretty good I'd say.

Remember God does not expect perfection. That's why He sent Jesus in the first place. Just love him and believe and try.

Look up some of these: Psalms118:12
Isaiah 1:18
Isaiah 39:17
Micah 7:19
Romans 5:9
Keep in touch! I'd like to know how you're doing. Mightydeva@sbcglobal.net

Every Christian has a battle to fight. It is the battle of the mind and if you ask God to forgive you of something, He will and forget it. What makes you do the same wrong thing over again is temptation from the enemy (Satan) and you are to weak to resist that temptation because you may not understand Satans tricks.

There is a book you can buy it is called "The Battle For The Mind"
by Jessi Penn Lewis.

This little book will help you understand what is going on and how to know that You have been forgiven and also know that we as Christians have a reale battel to fight.

Okay, Here you are with whatever sin you have committed under your belt and it is eating away at your conscience ( as it should ). We must go to God in faith and ask for that forgiveness which He promises us.
Here comes the hard part. Now we have to go about forgiving ourselves when the pangs of guilt surround us because of the consequences involved as a result of the sin. Sometimes these consequences will last a lifetime, which makes forgiving yourself even more important and difficult.
We must resolve not to repeat the sin. Also you must remember there is a difference between a sin and a mistake. In either case, hopefully you have learned a lesson. You must, in confidence/faith know that God forgives you because He says that we must ask in supplicating prayer for what we need ( in this case, forgiveness ) and then be confident because of your faith that He will perfrm your requests.
Remember that king David was a man after God's own heart. Then think about the atrocities which happened in king David's life. The reason he was a man after God's own heart, was because of his ability to instantly repent and not to commit the same sin again. He learned by his mistakes and went about to continue in the service of God, which means he forgave himself.
Not forgiving yourself is spiritually deblilitating. You cannot move forward and as a result you become spiritually stagnant. It keeps you from growing. You begin to wallow in the mire of self pity.'Accept your responsibility in the sin, seek God's forgiveness as you repent and then move forward making whatever adjustments you need to become more like the Being Who gave His all so you could have forgiveness and that peace which passes all understanding.

Don't worry; that's all he can ask or expect of any of us. I'm sure Mother Theresa would have explained her life the same way. Remember the parable with the man who goes away and leaves his money with his servants? The first man invests the money and makes a lot. The second man invests the money and makes a little. The third man doesn't even try, but buries the money in the ground. It's only the man who doesn't even try who gets punished. And it sounds to me very much that you're trying. Just do your best and have faith in God.

Lighten up dude.
Someone laid a heavy duty guilt trip on you.
Your problem is not Jesus, its puberty.
No longer a child, and not ready or accepted as a man.
Guilt and fear are pretty useless emotions.
I am not saying disregard them.
But concentrate on what makes you feel emotional healthy.
Religion is a form of control of the un-educated.
Its 2006 I think we have progressed form fairy tales to truth.
What you feel as anxiety is the fact you are growing up.
By being a good little boy and keeping your selfish parents happy just does not cut it anymore.
Be strong, work on your self.
Hygiene, nutrition, study what you enjoy.
By knowing more you will understand more.
This should hold you for a while.
Lots on your plate now.
Good luck.

I was counseling a young man just yesterday who is facing a similar struggle. He walked away from his relationship with the Lord for a couple of years because he couldn't live a life free from sin and he felt horrible about "letting God down" whenever he would slip up and commit a sin.

What might be helpful for you to realize is that God has paid for all of your sins, past, present and future, and that every Christian is going through a process called "sanctification".

We have already been "justified" through our faith in Jesus, meaning that we have been given a right standing in God's eyes in a legal sense. We are declared "not guilty" because Jesus became sin for us and paid our sin debt.

Now the Holy Spirit is doing the work of sanctification and transformation. Over time a Christian loses the desire to engage in sinful practices as they become more like Jesus through the work of the Spirit in their lives.

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Listen to me.I went through these things myself for years.Just continue to live right and repent when you pray.NEVER give up or turn back.As you get older in the Lord, these things will become easier and they won`t bother you like they are now. This may be a test,to see if you are going to keep going for the Lord.Say to yourself."I am going to live right, and let the Lord decide whether I go to Heaven or not.And then don`t worry about it.Have Faith in the Lord.Worry is not Faith. But as I said, the longer you live the more you`ll understand and the less you will worry.Keep your heart pure and then the Lord is obligated to take you to Heaven, for he said"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall se God."
