My system of belief is..evolving.. if you will, I'm not quite sure what my beliefs will be as I am still learning and searching. I do know though that it will not be any one of the major world religions.. good for those that want them but I don't.

Yes. Personal experiences have led me to believe there is something there. BUT! All these writings everyone leans on, claimin they are "God's Word" is, IMO, rather silly. The writers were obviously human and obviously writing for their own people of their own time. Most of which, were nomadic people who were constantly fighting with neighboring tribes and cities. Almost ALL of the Gods during these times were War Gods or connected to war in some way. To try to use such limited writings to claim the nature of something that no one can even prove exists and then to argue the point... *sigh* Ya think maybe it's an ego thing? ^_^

Two answers

Like Einstein reportedly put it

1- If there is a God and you believe, you got it made, If there is a God and you don't believe, you're screwed

2 -If there is not a God and you believe you haven't really lost anything. If there is not a God and you don't believe, you haven't gained anything.

So why not just believe?

I believe because I've felt things and seen things and know that the earth and this small group of humanoids cannot possibly be all there is - and if it is, what a nightmare.

I believe the universe had to be created by a being much larger than each one of us. If not God, then who? If there was no God, why am I always saying "Oh my God?"

I believe in God because the evidence is there in Creation. I also believe in Him, because He has showed me the purpose of my life from the plan He had for me, before the foundation of the world. I also believe in Him because He has been faithful to me. I have experienced His love and forgiveness, and He has made a whole. He has guided my life, and I trust in Him completely.

If you are referring to psycho christians version of God, then, No.
I do believe in a higher existence than our own, though not quite sure what. If anything has deterred the minuscule amount of faith I actually do have; it has been christians. Ironic, isn't it?
Too many things, good and bad, happen every day for me to be a complete athiest though.

I believe in God because he is in my life. I'm loved by my friends and family. God is love. So if love is then God is.

The last religious leader I questioned told me that my spouse ( at the time) and I shouldn't be married because you shouldn't harness a mule with a thoroughbred.

I don't really understand faith so maybe the problem is me.
