can u give me only the various applications of self exited and various types of seperately exited(series,shunt,compound) dc generators.

self excited generator at constant speed we can't vary the out put as per output load .Terminal voltage may vary depends upon the load variation.ie it will be better for maintaining constant speed & constant load .
The seperate excited generator out put volatages can be achieved constant by variying the exitation by means of rheostat or by AVR(by varying the excitation voltages) The compund generator used in portable welding generators, power supply Generator for Lift ,cranes, some Boring machine,Lathe machine for speed variable drive (In olden days) & also in Locomotive main generator used is compound generator connected to series motor with series & paralel combination in achiving various speed (thyrister controlls also used ) Traction purpose.permanent magnet generator/motors also available in nominal ratings in machine & speed control (Tacho generators are used for feed back) I hope I covered ur rquirement If you need further details e.mail me.
