Why not accept you parents had sex and your purpose will be to havge sex and make more humans... and along the way make your self useful in some way to the herd ie be a doctor, mountain rescue or entertainer etc.
And when you die the brain waves cease, you become mat and rot...
And as for where did the universe come from... why not wait several thousand years till we can make a telescope 3 galaxies wide...
ie even in sci fy its rare to see any go intergalactic.
Most are in a galaxy as the distance is unbelievable... we are insignificant... why not accept it.
And as for the odds of a table coming together rubbish needing a deisnger...
organic matter adapts, dead wood or metal does not.
As we are not made of metal or dna adapts and develops over time and dna has been around a bloody long time.

together is tiny, but how many grains of sand are on the planet and then given that probability the chances that these chemicals could come toghter are somewhat more likely, if you multiply that by number of reactiosn a second, caulculate thet on the basis of billions of years and all the planets in the galaxy and the universe.

DNA is less likly but the universe has had so many tickets and payed so much the odds are it would occur at some point, once the building blocks were there it progressed

Naturally people cannot accept the fact, that everything has an end, have you tried imagining the infinite? Many people gone mad in this problem...You say that we have to accept the fact, that our parents had sex and we are the result, but is this really the purpose of life, to have sex, to reproduce? This is an animalistic characteristic, we are humans, we have intelligence,this is the difference between us, and animals. Have you never wondered if there is a higher purpose of life then having children. If you don't believe in God, then to be happy, to make somebody happy (not necessarily your partner, but people in general). is it so easy for you to accept, then in 50 years you will be nothing but ashes. You yourself said, that after we die, we decompose, this is why we SHOULD have a bigger purpose, to accomplish something, that after we are dead we are remembered or considered a good person, who's life wasn't in vain.
If we accept everything, we certainly live a happy life, careless, but there is no development, if scientists doesn't ask this one question over and over again: WHY? then there couldn't have been all these great discoveries human kind made in history, if the caveman would have accepted that he had no fire or no tools, we weren't using computers now, this is why we should think, and question everything, because this is how we learn about the marvellous things that surrounds us. When we are kids, we always question our parents, and every kid ask this question a lots of times a day: WHY?
You've mentioned the relativity of a person, you consider yourself unimportant? Why do you see things in the perspective of the whole universe? Yes, we are small beings, but not unimportant as you say. take nature for example, there is a great balance, everything is connected, if one element is missing, tha, the whole structure collapses (natural catastrophes). It is the same, with us, everybody is important, maybe you don't see it now, but you may mean the whole universe to another person, these are the things worth living for, this is why we can't resume everything to eating and reproducing. We have feelings, we see the world in a different way than animals do, this is why we cannot accept our life like you described, we seek bigger goals. EVERY culture believes in a certain deity no matter where it is geographically. why? because god is a major archetype for the people. This is the common thing in every culture. It can't be that Indians in America and people in Africa invent the same idea, the concept of God is so archaic, that the idea must come from God, this is one of the proves for the existing of God.
My advise to you is that you keep questioning, and don't accept anything, because YOU can make a difference, no matter that there are 6.2 billion people in the world, you are unique, and important!Accept it! :-)
