I know this sounds like a dumb question. I have an indoor cat and 2 ferrets. I'm trying to identify a flea. I know that they cannot fly. I saw 2 small things jumping rapidly around on the floor. I thought that they might be fleas.....UNTIL..... I saw one on the ceiling jumping down and back up on the ceiling. And NO, I'm not on drugs. If it's not a flea......WHAT IS IT??????

definitely not.
fleas cannot fly. if it was on the ceiling and jumped, it would fall to the floor.

Fleas can jump a long ways. If it was small and jumping rapidly it was most likely a flea. You can bug bomb your house for them. Just make sure that you and the pets are gone when you do it.

It might be some sort of small fly or gnat: They look like fleas, unless you get a very close look at them. It might be possible for a flea to climb up to the cieling, but they wouldn't jump around there.

I don't know if fleas can be on the ceiling. I wouldn't think so but... never know. I'd get like flea bombs & see if that gets rid of them. If not perhaps you may need to call an exterminator.

Before the unnecessary hassle & expense of a bomb or exterminator, if you're not sure, ask the vet. I've never seen fleas on a ceiling, but they are jumpers so anything is possible.

It could be a flea b/c you can track them in the house on the bottom of your shoes and pants. Just b/c you cat never goes outside doesn't mean that they don't have fleas. I went thru kinda the same thing.

All I know is that fleas can jump very high. So to me its a possibility. No Your not crazy.

if irs fleas u might want to get ur house flea boomed if its not u still probaly should to just make sure it will kill all the fieas in ur house if u have any

it could easily be flea, they can jump like you discraibed. you can by powder in pharmacy stores to exterminate them. they can even bite people, it dosent hurt, and is not dangerous, but, why let them. they leave small red dots on your skin.

I have no idea WHAT it is, but I would get an exterminator!!!!!!!
