Uncertainties! The more he found out the more certain he got and apparently things were not adding up like he thought it would. That is why it is so important for people to be true to who they really are. Acting can get you an "Oscar", but it can't get you the happiness you are genuinely looking for.

There are a lot of PIECES missing from this puzzle.
Age? Some guys let's say in their TEEN years are just too young to settle with one girl.
THIS IS A GENERAL LOOK AT MOST GUYS, NOT ALL!
In early 20's some guys will look for older ladies to LEARN how to please themselves. Most older ladies will not mind being a teacher. They learn and move on. It is all a learning experience for the guys, nothing more.
They are in the testing age, try one move on... repeat until they are into mid to late 20's then they realize that girls do not want to be 'played' and the world gets lonely if they do not settle on one. So they settle but their eyes keep open to other 'options' along the way.
In their 30's they really start to want or need to settle down all around. I mean they tend to take jobs seriously and stop partying, they realize that other buddies got families going, life really gets lonely for the 'player' at the time.
Guys in their 30's start to realize that they are loosing the charms, getting a beer gut around the middle, maybe loosing hair or getting Grey ones! They don't even have the SAME interest in their RIDES as they used to and usually you can see dust on the old hot rod!
Yes by 30 guys are really beginning to settle down.
Now you did not mention if this guy has had some bad LOVE experiences or not. IF he has gotten involved with a player girl and she hurt his feelings and all but crushed his ego, It might be that he is feeling love too and scared and bails out before you crush him.
SOME guys who do LOVE, really LOVE, love deep and really put everything into it. They are hurt bad when love goes wrong and become scared to try again, they pain hurts that bad. So if a guy has had bad luck before he might be a afraid of commitment, maybe you spoke about commitment too soon in the relationship and scared him off. Not your fault, we ladies want to know if this is a player or a lover, so we ask, because we are not GIVING anything to a player if we are ready for commitments.
It is true that there are just some PEOPLE in general that can have sexual relationships ships with many different partners and just keep moving on, they might be sexually addicted, so they need a NEW TOY all the time. Most of those have been given the name "PLAYER" and they do not know that they are sexually addicted some do, but most are in denial.
Lastly, YOU did not mention the factors on your part that might have made him move on. It is not always the guys that have trouble, and move on.
Sometimes, us girls have some'minor' flaws too! Such as "habits", hygiene, old baggage, too clingy ( did you allow him to have HIS time and time with the boys? ) Were you jealous at every girl he looked at?
Something was not what THEY wanted.
I am not saying YOU had anything wrong, but you did not state all the facts.
These are all some typical reasons SOME guys leave soon after when it gets too hot to handle or too close to commitment. Or we are just not what they wanted after all.
You too can leave a relationship if something comes up that you do not like.
Do not feel LOCKED IN.
If there is something that is unpleasant about the relationship talk about it first and see if it can be fixed. IF not and it is really uncomfortable for you then you can leave too.
Do not be discouraged...Keep trying.
Good Luck.
Look at yourself to see if there might have been a reason your guy took flight too soon.
Did you even ask him? It might be very educational indeed! If you want to learn about guys the best way is to ask THEM.

Unfortunately, people can be very fickle. Most likely, he just suddenly found someone else to pursue. That someone may be next to have the same fate as you.

Some men will pursue after a woman with no intention of being with them with the same urges as a dog that chases after cars with no intention of ever driving one.

It could be that he got cold feet. Also, he could have a secret that you don't know about, like a wife, or a girlfriend, or kids, maybe a disease. Don't feel bad that a person stopped pursuing you, it could be a blessing.

The same reason a woman will do this. Either it turned out his/her feelings weren't turning toward "in love", someone else came along, or maybe he/she just changed their mind.

Well it depends on how far you let him get.
If it was before sex and you didnt seem to be interested in a long time...
Or if it was after sex and you seemed to let him have it too soon.
either way...guys dont like having to work to hard on a relationship.
