The majority of long term relationships that marry, don't usually last another year, lets face it if your still together doesn't that show you commitment! given that nobodys obligated to stay! The mind always rebels against a contract of no choice "Till death us do part" ect ect ect

If you've been with him as long as you say, it seems like it should be pretty easy to tell him that you want to get married and are tired of waiting. If you don't feel that you can tell him that, then you both may have communication problems that need to be resolved as soon as possible.

if so...tell him that would make you very happy to be married and to have his name..
are you living together? if so.your pretty much common law marriage..
if he balks decide what you really want and what is really important to you...to be married to him ...or dating/living with him..
pick and choose your battles carefully...
and be ready for the consequences
