I have a HUGE cavity ready for a root canal, and the nerve is 'overgrowing' according to the dentist. It seems to be growing bigger and bigger, is there anything i can do?

anything you can do? get it fixed

Sometimes the inside of the tooth gets eaten away when the nerve over grows this is called "internal resorption". your tooth may require a root canal filling to kill the nerve and stop it from eating more of the inside of the tooth.

You also might mean that you have a hole in your tooth and your nerve has growen into the hole... which is more common in younger kids when the root isn't formed properly. get it fixed.

You also might mean that gum has grown into a cavity that has been there a while instead of nerve. get it fixed

I would think your question should be directed to your dentist. If you are about to have a root canal, just do it. The nerve is "killed" in the process.
