DID YOU KNOW THAT IT IS A FELONY TO DO THAT?

I will answer your question in a sec... first a message to JT Not all cuffs use the same key but most do.

If the officer did his job.. you will have no chance of escaping. You should be searched properly THEN placed in the back seat cuffed. The cuffs should be tight enough not to harm but not so loose that you can slip out of them. The key holes should face upwards and not downwards and if you try to break out the window with your head and run cuffed you can be shot for escape in some counties and states.

It is a felony to assist someone in escaping and even more punishable then escaping yourself... so I suggest you rethink what you are intending to do. You or your buddy will only end up with tighter cuffs on the next time and you will be enroute to the state correctional facility where you will be cuffed up on a routine basis. So it's a good idea for you to stop and think a sec about what is instore for someone dumb enough to try this.

The easiest way to escape is to NOT BE PUT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!! Don't do the crime, then you won't have worry about doing the time. Once you are arrested, handcuffed, and put in the rear seat of a patrol unit and seatbelted is TOO LATE to be thinking about how to get out of it.

You can't. If everything has been done correctly then at a minimum you have two obstacles to overcome - the hadcuffs and the door that has no way to open from the inside.

Even having a spare handcuff key is useless if hinged handcuffs are used or if your palms are facing outward.

Always carry a handcuff key in your back pocket. The secret to handcuffs is that all handcuffs take the same key!!!!!!!!!!! Practice makes perfect.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

You would probably get caught and face resisting arrest charges.

first dont get caught because once you are cuffed and in the backseat, its near impossible to escape. if you do you will be shot.

Teleportation, since that's likely to happen first. Until then, I say sit back and enjoy the ride. ;-)
